For every child, Education
The Communication Centre is responsible for Supply Division’s (SD’s) communication function. Supplies serve a critical role in achieving UNICEF’s mandate for children. The production, packaging and publication of written and visual content via curated channels and partnerships gives visibility to UNICEF Supply’s work and increases audience and supporter engagement. SD is also a favorite destination for media, donors, fundraisers, and supporters who want to enrich their understanding of UNICEF’s work for children, and the critical role of Supply in achieving results.
How can you make a difference?
The purpose of this assignment is to plan and produce innovative UNICEF Supply-related content for publication across external platforms, and day-to-day management, development and promotion of UNICEF Supply Division’s social media channels. This involves collaborative planning, creative development, and production of content across platforms, as well as the planning and production of content for campaigns and visits by media, donors and partners, and other outward facing activities. It will also involve the consistent and strengthened use of data, analytics and content marketing deliver on strategy and increase audience and supporter engagement across channels.

Key functions, accountabilities and related duties/tasks:
In close coordination with the Chief of Communication and in collaboration with colleagues across the Communication Centre, the incumbent will be responsible for the following:
- Leading on the development and promotion of UNICEF Supply Division’s social media presence, content, and platforms, strengthening strategic approaches and processes on an ongoing basis; leading on social media content marketing, as well as data and analytics.
- Facilitating the development of UNICEF Supply Division’s strategic approaches to emerging digital media channels, including chat apps and next generation social media.
- Create editorial and production plans, and oversee a content calendar, based on SD priorities for use on SD’s external communication platforms and for further distribution on global and national platforms and networks.
- Develop and produce multimedia and social content across formats towards key communication opportunities and priorities.
- Contribute to and adapt UNICEF globally produced content packages to communicate and strengthen understanding of UNICEF Supply’s contribution towards realizing the UNICEF mandate globally.
- Produce written content for the key moments and major projects, including the UNICEF Supply Annual Report.
- Use relevant software and analytics tools to strengthen content and social media strategy to increase audience and social media supporter engagement.
- Supports research and capacity building in the use of emerging analytics and marketing tools for SD.
- Conduct social media monitoring and training.
- Lead on evidence based and targeted content marketing approaches to strengthen reach and engagement across UNICEF Supply
- Division’s social media and digital channels.
- Prepare content and briefing materials for various purposes, including for materials for media, and visitors to UNICEF Supply division by Goodwill Ambassadors, donors, National Committee representatives and other special interest groups.
- Assist in organizing project site visits, facilitating photo coverage and TV footage for media and other partners as required.
- Help organize and generate public support for special events and activities to promote SD goals through content production.
- Support external visits and events.
- Any other duties and tasks assigned as part of the workplan of the unit and of the incumbent.

Minimum requirements:
- Education:
- A first-level university degree in the field of communication, content strategy and production, public relations or a related field is required.
- Work Experience:
- A minimum of two years of experience in producing digital content and working with social media channels, as well as writing and editing, are required. Experience in digital analytics and social media marketing.
Experience of working at a UN organization is an asset. - Language Requirements:
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language is considered as an asset.
Desirables:
- Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency.
