How can you make a difference? 

Background:

Under the direct supervision of the Fundraising Specialist (Private Sector) the consultant will provide technical support on specific areas related to donors, grants, and knowledge management, by contributing to fundraising research, engagement with National Committees, develop engagement plans with foundations, Donor Proposals for Regional Partnerships Team, and Country Office Fundraising and Partnerships.

 

Scope of Work:

  • Conduct Partnership and Donor Mapping
  • Prepare quality progress reports ensuring compliance with donor regulations and reporting standards
  • Fundraising, Strategies with UNICEF High-income Offices, and external fundraising prospect and partner engagement.
  • Elaborate Country Office Fundraising Strategies
  • Develop and maintain Knowledge Management, Matrix, Tools, Stakeholder List, Fundraising Tracker
  • Provide reports and notes for Donor Visits and Meetings

Main Deliverables:

Partnership Enablers and Management

  • PFP Faith, Corporate, and Foundations Partnership and Grant Coordination – South Asia  
  • Donor Reports & Investment Case Documents
  • Research, Donor Intelligence, and South Asia Matrix, Mapping, Knowledge Management 
  • Stakeholder Engagement, Toolkit and Annual Partnerships Activity Plan  

Partnerships Fundraising

  • Fundraising propositions developed linked ROSA, SAR A4a, Natcom priorities, and donor interests.
  • ROSA Partnerships Visits, Meetings Organisation.
  • Manage coordination with small-dormant Natcoms, and share funding opportunities for SAR

Partnerships Budgeting and Planning

  • Provide technical support  ingrant, donor, funding coordination, manage and uptake internal systems and coordinate funding pipeline.

Partnerships Research, Report Review and Planning

  • Research and engage in donor strategies, research for foundations, faith- and public-private partnership opportunities.
  • Partnership engagement with Private Sector Donors, Rolling Basis.
  • Research, Donor Intelligence, and South Asia Matrix, Mapping, Knowledge Management
  • Stakeholder Engagement, Toolkit and Annual Partnerships Activity Plan

 

ROSA Partnerships Visits, Meetings, and Coordination

  • Research, Donor Intelligence, and South Asia Matrix, Mapping, Knowledge Management
  • Stakeholder Engagement, Toolkit and Annual Partnerships Activity Plan
  • Provide technical support in grant, donor, funding coordination, manage and uptake internal systems and coordinate funding pipeline.
  • Manage coordination with small-dormant Natcoms, and share funding opportunities for SAR

Note: This is an office-based consultancy for 11.5 months. All applications should include financial proposals.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

Education Qualifications: Master's in International Relations, Development Management, Social Sector, Humanitarian Disciplinaries or related areas

Knowledge/Expertise/Skills required:

  • A minimum of three Years of Working Experience in a similar working profile (Advocacy, Partnerships, Fundraising function is required).
  • Partnerships and Resource Mobilization experience is required.
  • Display excellent donor communication, and engagement is required.
  • Experience of working in partnerships role with UN agencies is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills is required.
  • Proven experience of donor management, understanding of database management is required.
  • Excellent ability to write clear briefings, notes, and reporting is required.
  • Experience of engaging high-level donors is an asset.
  • Proven track record of strong stakeholder coordination is an asset.
  • Proven fundraising and grant management skills are an asset.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws. 

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
