UNICEF LACRO is looking for a Safeguarding, PSEA and AAP Specialist to develop and support UNICEF’s work on Safeguarding, Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) and Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) to meet UNICEF institutional and programmatic commitments.
The position is in the Office of Emergency Programmes (EMOPS) under the Emergency Specialist (Reporting/Global Appeals Manager). The Office of Emergency Programmes has several objectives:
(a) strengthen preparedness and timely, effective and efficient response to humanitarian crises in varied contexts;
(b) strengthen sustained access to principled humanitarian assistance and protection for children affected by humanitarian crises, and
(c) strengthen strategic alliances, partnerships and advocacy for child-focused humanitarian action.
The position will support the EMOPS Director’s Office, specifically in data management, analysis and communications, and in delivering on its corporate reporting accountabilities. Under supervision and in regular consultation with the supervisor, support reports and data visualization, including web and graphic design. Support the delivery of EMOPS annual reports and regular data aggregation of country humanitarian responses throughout the year for better accountability and fundraising through UNICEF’s humanitarian appeal (Humanitarian Action for Children) and for the National Committee, donors, partners and other external audiences.

We are looking for a mature professional, preferably with experience working in Middle Income Countries (MICs), with a track record in successful design, implementation and monitoring of child protection programmes. The post holder will be responsible to support the consolidation of a protective environment for children against all forms of violence in Brazil, promoting prevention initiatives and the integration of protection with education, social policy and health interventions, following national and international standards. The position is based in Brasilia, reporting to the UNICEF Deputy Representative, programmes.
