UNICEF Pacific seeks a proactive international consultant for a 12-month assignment (360 days: 180 remote, 180 in-country). The consultant will be based partly at home and partly in Majuro, RMI, with at least two trips to RMI totaling nine months, and two trips to Nauru to support programming. They will work closely with the RMI Chief Secretary’s office and be managed by the North Pacific Field Office in Pohnpei, with technical support from the Suva Multi-Country Office. Daily supervision will be provided by the Child Protection Specialist. All work-related costs are covered in the contract.

The consultant will conceptualize and deliver a cohesive visual identity, including logo design, color palette development, and supporting brand elements that reflect UNICEF’s values while maintaining a distinct academic and strategic tone. This identity will be applied consistently across multiple communication formats, such as digital newsletters, reports, social media banners, and PowerPoint templates. In collaboration with the PG Director’s Office, the consultant will also support layout and design of key publication series. This includes multiple issues of the At the Frontier newsletter and other knowledge products like Academic Notes and Analytical Notes. Each issue will require document formatting, photography research and selection, cover and thumbnail design, and production of related digital assets. Feedback will be integrated throughout iterative design phases to ensure alignment with UNICEF branding standards and communication goals.

The Alliance for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action (the Alliance) is a global network of operational agencies, academic institutions, policymakers, donors and practitioners that facilitates inter-agency technical collaboration on child protection in all humanitarian contexts. The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) leads the Alliance with a rotating NGO, currently the International Rescue Committee. The Alliance sets standards and produces technical guidance for use by the various stakeholders, particularly field practitioners. Its mission is to support humanitarian actors to achieve high-quality and effective child protection interventions in humanitarian contexts, in both refugee and non-refugee settings. This is a critical moment for the Alliance to solidify strategic partnerships and elevate its advocacy work for the centrality of the child in all humanitarian action. The purpose of the assignment is to support the Alliance Secretariat with strategic partnerships, donor engagement, and advocacy activities.
