UNICEF Malawi will establish a Long Term Agreement with an individual consultant to provide technical support and engineering expertise on-demand for the design, review, validation, and oversight of rural WASH infrastructure in Malawi. The consultant will support UNICEF Malawi on an as-and-when-required basis in ensuring that all WASH infrastructure designs—particularly solar-powered water supply systems and WASH facilities in schools, healthcare facilities, and other institutions—meet national guidelines and UNICEF standards for sustainability, safety, equity, and climate resilience. In addition, the consultant will provide advisory services and technical capacity-building to UNICEF partners, including government institutions and NGOs, to strengthen national systems and support effective implementation of WASH infrastructure across the country.

UNICEF Pacific is hiring a WASH Officer (Engineer) at the NOB level to be based in Tarawa, Kiribati. The WASH Officer will report to the WASH Specialist and provide technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the WASH programming process. The WASH Officer will prepare, and implement a variety of technical, management, and administrative tasks, related to the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the WASH output results of the country programme. Specifically, this position will provide dedicated WASH engineering expertise to the WASH Programme in the country office including working closely with key government stakeholders and selected contractors in planning of improvement works and to provide close technical oversight and regular reporting of implementation of the construction works.
