In the context of a deepening global learning crisis, digital education has become a critical lever for education system transformation. At the same time, unequal access to technology, variable quality of implementation, and weak evidence on impact risk reinforcing existing inequities if digital approaches are not carefully designed and governed. UNICEF’s Digital Education Strategy sets out a global framework to guide investments, partnerships, and country-level implementation of digital learning solutions. The Strategy emphasizes equity and inclusion, strong evidence and measurement, sustainability and system integration, and responsible engagement with technology companies. As UNICEF advances implementation of the Strategy and deepens global partnerships, focused advisory support is required to strengthen implementation planning, clarify measurement of equity outcomes, contribute to global dialogue, and advance analytical work on the role of EdTech in addressing educational inequities.
