The Nawa region, accounting for over 20% of Côte d’Ivoire’s national cacao production, continues to face high rates of child labour despite national progress in reducing its prevalence. As part of the joint UNICEF-ILO-IOM programme addressing the root causes of child labour, the local presence of the Child Protection Specialist (NO3) position in Soubré is essential to ensure timely and effective response at the field level. The specialist will lead child protection interventions, strengthen case management systems, inter-operability of services, and coordinate with local stakeholders to address child labour risks and root causes of child labour in both plantation, institutional and community settings. This position will also support the visibility and operational capacity of the joint UN office, contributing to the broader goals of the National Sustainable Cocoa Strategy.The Specialist contributes to the achievement of results according to sectoral plans, fund allocations, results based-management approaches and methodology (RBM), and UNICEF’s Strategic Plans, standards of performance and accountability framework.
