UNICEF Pacific is looking for a proactive and dedicated Consultant (National or International) for a 5 month assignment (75 working days) to support nutrition strengthening efforts across Solomon Islands. In partnership with MEHRD, MAL and MHMS, the Consultant will lead comprehensive dietary intake assessments in 9 schools across Western and Isabel Provinces, and 7–9 schools in Guadalcanal Province. You will work closely with provincial government teams, coordinate with other consultants and partners, and contribute to related curriculum development work on nutrition teaching aids. This role requires 70 days of work in country, including three field visits to each province, with an additional 5 days of remote work permitted. All travel and activity costs will be covered within the contract’s financial proposal. The position will be managed by the UNICEF Solomon Islands Field Office, with technical guidance from the UNICEF Pacific Nutrition Manager. UNICEF Pacific is seeking a committed and proactive National Consultant for a 12-month assignment (250 working days) to support an impactful initiative in the Solomon Islands. Based at the UNICEF Solomon Islands Field Office in Honiara, the consultant will work closely with the Ministries of Agriculture and Education and conduct regular field missions to Isabel and Western Provinces (approximately one round trip to each province per month). Reporting to the Maternal and Child Health Specialist and working with day-to-day guidance from the Nutrition Officer and remote support from the Nutrition Manager in the Pacific Multi Country Office in Suva, the consultant will play a key role in strengthening agriculture production systems that supply targeted schools with locally grown, climate resilient, and nutritious food. The role also focuses on building sustainable links between schools and community agriculture, applying agroforestry and ecological design principles to enhance biodiversity, soil health, and climate resilience. WASH Partnership Consultant – WASH partnership landscape assessment, with a focus on innovation as an entry point – anchored in the global WASH practice , OOI, 5 months (remote) in various locations
The consultant will assess partners and prospects with particular focus on climate resilience and innovation as entry points and identify funding, public financing and non-financial partnership opportunities. Through consultations across country offices and global partnership teams, and a few select external actors, the consultant will map partnership gaps and opportunities propose, and outline clear engagement approach that support efforts towards high impact and long-term partnerships. A key deliverable will be identifying high‑potential partners with strong interest in WASH, innovation, and climate‑resilient solutions to produce a stakeholder matrix and develop a global partnership pipeline of the most viable prospects. This is to include funding, public financing, and core resources and networks, leverage opportunities towards areas such as capacity building, advocacy, and building a pipeline of solutions. The work will include preparing a high‑level, tailored engagement strategy for each partnership type and context. This work will help establish a strong foundation for partnership collaboration, enabling UNICEF and partners to support, cocreate, and scale impactful WASH climate resilient programmes and innovations.
