How can you make a difference?

UNICEF Supply Division (SD) works to ensure equitable and inclusive access to essential supplies and services for children and their families, in development, humanitarian and fragile contexts. These supplies are critical to saving lives, supporting children’s health and education, and protecting them from abuse, exploitation, and neglect. As the UN’s largest end to end supply chain entity, UNICEF leverages its global reach, market influence, supply chain expertise and partnerships with governments, civil society, private sector, industry, and other stakeholders to meet children’s needs and protect their rights around the world. SD focuses on three result areas to maximize impact, scale, and effectiveness: strategic procurement; supply preparedness and response in humanitarian and fragile contexts; and supply chain optimization. To facilitate and accelerate progress toward these results, SD employs three change strategies: financing for supply and services, supply chain digitalization and supply chain localization. The People and Culture Centre leads strategic human resources management by strengthening workforce capabilities, promoting high performance, and fostering an inclusive work environment. It drives the development and delivery of strategic HR solutions across the organization. The Centre oversees workforce planning, talent management, and the development of a future ready workforce within the supply community. It also provides technical expertise and supports leadership development initiatives.
 
Roles and responsibities:

1. Business Partnering
Provide strategic and operational People and Culture support to Centers by researching policies, analyzing data, advising on HR matters, and helping develop action plans aligned with organizational goals. Ensure timely, client-focused guidance on HR processes and issue resolution while promoting equitable practices, gender equity, and cultural diversity.

2. Strategic Human Resources
Contribute to the improvement of People and Culture systems, policies, and processes by providing feedback and practical recommendations. Stay informed on emerging HR best practices, benchmark innovative approaches, and support the development of global policies through knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.

3. Support to Implementation of assigned P&C Services
Support the delivery of People and Culture services such as recruitment, HR operations, staff support, and performance management to enhance workforce effectiveness. Analyze HR cases, interpret policies, and recommend appropriate solutions or actions.

4. Cross-Unit/ Centre collaboration and Project Management Support
Support capacity-building initiatives and collaborate across People and Culture units to provide data and support tailored HR solutions.

5. HR Data Analytics
Collect and analyze HR data to support decision-making, monitor key HR metrics, and assist in improving data systems and reporting processes.

6. Team Management
Manage and support team members to ensure the timely and high-quality delivery of People and Culture services.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

Minimum requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Business Management, International Relations, Psychology and any other related fields.
  • Work Experience: At least 2 years of relevant work experience in Human Resources, Administration, Workforce Planning, Talent Management, Recruitment, Performance Management, Human Resources Operations, Position Management, Human Resources Analytics, Diversity and Inclusion, Organizational Development and any other related fields.
  • Skills: HR Management, Workforce Planning, Data Analytics, Policy Interpretation, Stakeholder Engagement, Team Management.
  • Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required.

Desirables:

  • Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.
  • International Experience, UN experience, SAP Knowledge, TMS Knowledge, Analytical Thinking
  • Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
