How can you make a difference?
Nutrition is a multi-sectoral issue, and inter-sectoral action is critical to addressing nutritional problems. Sindh province has made progress by implementing a multi-sectoral program ‘Accelerated Action Plan for stunting reduction’ through multi sectoral platform by engaging eight sectors. AAP is coordinating with all stakeholders.
World Bank is also implementing new health and social protection programs through Department of health and Social Protection Authority Sindh.
The AAP Taskforce Secretariat plays a central role in promoting inclusive, effective, and participatory governance across nutrition and multisectoral programming. However, the existing structure of the Secretariat does not have dedicated technical human resource capacity to effectively support in the implementation of AAP taskforce secretariat portfolio within nutrition governance mechanisms/coordination.
UNICEF is supporting AAP Secretariate for multi sectoral coordination at provincial and divisional level and interventions with focus on maternal and child nutrition, ECD and adolescents’ nutrition, school health and nutrition and PF4N.
