Under the overall supervision of the M&E Specialist, the MICS consultant will support and provide guidance to UNICEF Belarus and Belstat for the preparation, implementation and completion of the MICS survey in the country.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have...

Minimum requirements:

Education*:

• Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Sociology, Demography, Development Studies, International Relations, Monitoring and Evaluation, Research, Data Science or other relevant fields

* Two years of additional relevant work experience that was gained after obtaining a bachelor’s degree may be accepted in lieu of advanced degree, if it is 1) exceptionally approved by Representative and 2) indicated in the vacancy announcement.

Work Experience:

• At least 8 years of professional experience in monitoring, evaluation, statistics, data analysis, research, information management, official statistics or other areas relevant to the assignment

Knowledge/Expertise/Skills:

• Expertise in statistical analysis and data processing, including proficiency in SPSS or similar statistical software.
• Experience in leading and/or coordinating large-scale household surveys, population-based surveys, statistical data collection exercises or research projects.
• Experience in comprehensive data analysis and survey report writing.
• Strong understanding of monitoring, research, data analysis and evidence generation principles and approaches.
• Knowledge of survey methodologies, administrative data systems and official statistics.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and synthesize data and evidence from multiple sources.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality outputs.
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and establish harmonious and effective working relationships.                

Language Requirements:

• Fluency in Russian

Desirables:

• Experience in conducting and/or coordinating household surveys or other large-scale statistical surveys is an asset.
• Experience in providing technical expertise and support in conducting MICS is an asset.
• Working knowledge of English is an asset.
