How can you make a difference? 

BIS Section is facing a growing demand for automation and processes simplification through innovation GSSC and at global level. In order to provide valid responses, analysis and solutions, we need the support of specialized person having a high expertise in the areas of the platforms and system UNICEF is using, like Microsoft (mainly Azure and  Power Platform) and their integration with other systems (mainly SQL db, Service Now, SAP).

Scope of Work:

  • Development, maintenance and optimization of the existing Power Platform related applications (mainly SharePoint and Power Apps)
  • Participate in the development of the ongoing Power Platform related Projects,
  • Application of integration solutions for data integration for new projects under BIS
  • Solutions to follow Power Platform evolution (from SharePoint and custom pages toward to Modern, Power Automate, PowerApps customization, Azure Logic Apps),
  • Prepare the required technical documentation,
  • Scaling up of Power Platform solutions
  • Use of backup and restore procedures to make possible a sustainable development policy for Power Platform solutions.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

  • An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in Computer Science, Information Systems Management or related field
  • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in Power Platform (SharePoint) development and 10 years in Power Shell Scripting 
  • Knowledge in VB programming
  • Knowledge in O365 apps
  • Knowledge in SQL scripting, management and integration
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow platform
  • Excellent communication
  • Fluency in English (both verbal and written) is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws. 

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
