Recognizing the importance of nurturing and optimizing its partner relations to ensure critical resourcing and support to UNICEF’s work, UNICEF recently rolled out a global, Salesforce-based, customer relationship management (CRM) system, known as UNISON. While the project phase comes to an end in December 2024, the UNISON team will continue to foster the ongoing change in the way the organization manages partnerships, working to increase uptake and systematic usage of UNISON across the spectrum of internal stakeholders and supporting the tool’s evolution. The goal is to maintain and manage all donor partner relationships (from both private and public sectors) on UNISON globally, driving revenue growth and promoting partnership knowledge-sharing and coordination; tracking income and pipeline funding; and enabling increased financial and non-financial support to drive results for children.

For every child, a Champion

Under the direct supervision of the Business Analysis Manager (Partnerships) - UNISON, the Business Analysis Officer is expected to work in the planning, design, development, testing and roll-out of any new requirements identified by Public Partnerships users, and to support public sector partnerships stakeholders to understand and derive value from UNISON. The incumbent will be a vital link between the business and technical teams and be responsible for drafting documents, conducting trainings, and consulting and coordinating with relevant HQ teams as well as Country Offices and Regional Offices, to support effective integration and drive user adoption for public sector partnerships.

This role is expected to take ownership for coordination across teams working on public sector partnerships, responding to operational issues, and communicating to the wider UNISON business and technical teams. The incumbent will demonstrate strong ability to effectively self-manage priorities and be able to collaborate effectively between end users and technical teams.

The incumbent will work closely with the technical team (Salesforce Solution lead, Integration developer, Salesforce support resources, contracted providers of Salesforce apps) in the rollout and adoption of any new technical solutions. While the focus will be primarily on solutions and uptake for teams working on public sector partnerships across the organization, the incumbent is expected to be familiar with and backstop on the general workings of UNISON for private sector partnerships as well, and to contribute to synergies within the system across public and private sector processes and functions.

How can you make a difference?

With more than 65 percent of UNICEF’s support coming from public sector partners, the Business Analysis Officer (Partnerships) will play a critical role translating the business needs of Partnerships Managers in the Public Partnerships Division (PPD), as well as in Country and Regional Offices to the Technical Team and ensuring efficient collaboration to maximize relationships with public sector partners wherever they may be. The incumbent will also backstop on private sector partnerships matters related to UNISON to ensure streamlined support to all users.

Under the direct supervision of the UNISON Business Analysis Manager, the incumbent will:

  1. Identify objectives and timeframes for implementation of enhancements related to public partnerships management, including identification and mapping of any new business requirements. Coordinate and update plans and schedules. Organize and prepare necessary presentation materials for meetings and follow up on important actions and decisions. Ensure deadlines are met and provide progress reports on new functionality implemented. Create and maintain documentation on processes, policies, application configuration, user support materials and systems operations documents.
  2. In collaboration with the UNISON team, build the capacity of Public Partnerships colleagues across the organization and support them in the effective use of UNISON, including periodic stock-taking to assess capacity; supporting the central training plan and hosting trainings to upskill Partnerships staff on use of UNISON; leading regular drop-in clinics and fielding queries for UNISON support.
  3. Monitor the quality of public sector data and, in collaboration with the UNISON Data and Analytics Specialist, support colleagues working on public partnerships to upload new information and ‘clean-up’ pre-existing data in UNISON to ensure it accurately reflects the portfolio of current partnerships and new opportunities from public sector partners.
  4. Develop and maintain communication assets to keep UNISON users abreast of new developments; keep guidance documents up to date; and promote UNISON.
  5. Acquire a general knowledge of private sector modalities on UNISON and stay abreast of developments in order to serve as a backstopping resource for support to users, and to ensure alignment between public and private sector enhancements.
