UNICEF works towards realization of the rights of children. The Division of Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP) works with National Committees and Country Offices to drive and maximize income growth for this work. The Audience and Market Insights team (AMI) provides PFP with data and insight on which to base their strategies and plans. AMI leads global research and insights initiatives to support and influence global, regional and local brand/communication/marketing strategies.

How can you make a difference? 

PURPOSE OF ASSIGNMENT
To support the execution of UNICEF brand studies across markets
 
OBJECTIVE(S)
The overall objective is to set up a Long-Term Agreement to hire (a) consultant(s) to support AMI team in the execution of UNICEF brand studies across markets Given the variable nature and timing of the work, this long-term agreement aims to establish a pool of experienced freelance market research consultants who are readily available to provide their expertise in a freelance nature (on an 'on-call' basis).
 
MAJOR TASKS TO BE ACCOMPLISHED
In close coordination with the Market Research Specialist, the consultant will:
1) Support the internal planning and set up of the studies with the agency and country teams: internal coordination, participation to weekly calls with the agency, finalization of the questionnaires, collection and review of country comparators, assets and review/revision of translations.
2) Prepare country reports and presentations, including quality checks, addition of relevant insights or analyses from other studies to bring added value, and clear research summaries of key insights and opportunities. Coordinate reporting with the agency and the research specialist according to the deployment plan
Organize and run engaging presentations/webinars to enable country/regional/global teams and internal stakeholders to identify actions following the results.
3) Run relevant analyses to join the dots with other research/insights available to bring added-value and actionable insights in the country and global presentations. Provide additional specific deep dive analyses (eg. Regional or global trend analyses, audiences deep dive etc.)
4) Provide technical support on the data or insights tools – conducting relevant data queries, scripting a questionnaire, supporting markets or internal stakeholders, facilitating access and usage to the platform.
 
Responsibilities of the Consultant:
The consultant will use their own equipment; laptops, microphones, software and other accessories that may be required for this task. The consultant will not give the content/material or any part thereof, to any third party without the written permission of UNICEF. All components will be a property of UNICEF, and the consultant will not share the same with anyone else. The consultant will not put their own name or logo/emblem on the content / final product. The only organization branding will be UNICEF. Regular liaison with manager.
 
Responsibilities of UNICEF:
UNICEF will provide all details pertaining to the activity and the requirements. UNICEF will orient the consultant on UNICEF's branding guidelines. UNICEF will share the documents and specifications with the consultant as he/she becomes available and will coordinate the timely delivery of work.
 
DELIVERABLES
1. Support the internal planning and set up of the studies with the agency and country teams:
- internal coordination, participation to weekly calls
- coordination and finalization of the questionnaires
- collection and review of country comparators, assets and review/revision of translations.
 
Deliverable:
Smooth finalization of the questionnaires and set up phase within agreed timings
For costing- assume global study includes 8 countries
 
Deadline for completion: As and when requested by UNICEF
 
2. Prepare country reports and presentations based on deliverables provided by the agency, including quality checks, addition of relevant insights or analyses from other studies to bring added value
-Develop clear research summaries of key insights and opportunities.
-Organize and run engaging presentations/webinars to enable country teams and internal stakeholders to identify actions following the results.
 
Deliverable:
Accurate, clear and actionable reports and executive summaries
within agreed timings
1 hour engaging presentation to present key findings and opportunities
For costing – assume 8 country reports and presentations
 
Deadline for completion: As and when requested by UNICEF
 
3. Run relevant analyses based on business needs.
Analyze relevant data coming from multiple sources.
Develop a clear presentation to deliver key findings and opportunities.
 
Deliverable:
Accurate and clear presentation of key findings and opportunities- delivered
within agreed timings
1 hour engaging presentation to present key findings and opportunities
For costing – share half day fee

4. Provide technical support on the data or insights tools – conducting relevant data queries, scripting a questionnaire, supporting markets or internal stakeholders, facilitating access and usage to the platform.

ESTIMATED DURATION OF LTA
The Long-Term Agreement will be for a duration of three years. The initial period would be for two years with an option for renewal for a subsequent year on the same rates, terms and conditions, subject to satisfactory performance evaluation and continuing need for the service.
 
LTA CONTRACT MANAGER:
Market Research Specialist, Audience and Market Insights team (AMI)
 
 
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 
Education:
• Advanced university degree (Master's degree or higher) in Marketing, Market Research, Business or any other related fields is required.
• Alternatively, a first level university degree (Bachelor's degree or higher) with additional 2 years of experience in relevant fields may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
 
Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible professional work experience in Market Research areas, brand research, quantitative research and digital research methodologies, some at the international level, is required.
• Previous experience in research/branding/communication in the private sector is required
• Solid experience in data analysis, statistical interpretation, and delivery of research findings is required.
• Prior experience in market research for a non-profit organization / UN organizations is an asset.
• Robust experience in Excel/data analytics. Experience with SPSS/Analytics tools/ Harmoni is an asset
• Creation and delivery of engaging presentations for multiple markets is an asset.
• Experience with interactive research dashboards or data visualization tools is an asset.
 
Language:
• Fluency in English is required
• Fluency in another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) is an asset.
 
Others:
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills is required.
• Experience working in a multi-cultural team is an asset.
• Experience working remotely, very responsive over email and Microsoft Teams is required.
