The position of Fundraising Associate (Donor Care Optimization) at the GS6 level in Chile Country Office (CHCO), in the section of Private Sector Fundraising & Partnerships, reports to the FR Senior Associate (Campaign Optimization) GS7.

Country office has seen a dramatic increase in the number of new donors acquired in the past years and the income related to these donors must be kept up to pace with the acquisition rhythm.

As the socioeconomic profile of the new donors has broadened, the retention tactics must deepen and sophisticate as to maintain the survival rates of retention that CO file used to have. Also, a segmented and differentiated way of maximizing donors' value must be put in place to continue the successful path that CO started years ago.

In this regard, the optimization area needs to grow to respond to the needs and realities of the different groups of donors, through sub-channels of donor care and value maximization, within the optimization area.

How can you make a difference?

Under the supervision of the FR Senior Associate (Campaign Optimization) GS7, the incumbent will oversee the daily activities of the Donor Care fundraising team with UNICEF Chile’s donors.

The Associate will be in charge of monitoring the maximization and retention activities of a relevant proportion of UNICEF Chile’s donor file through the Donor Care sub-channel. This channel is part of the campaign optimization sub-area in the retention area of Individual Giving.

• Manages the monitoring and reporting of Donor Care Strategy implementation
a. Oversees the optimization of the Donor Care Strategy through the supervision of every retention campaign and through the continued testing and improvement of processes.
b. Maintains a motivated Donor Care fundraising team and oversees the development of the talent for UNICEF inside the fundraising teams.
c. Watches over and is in charge of the integration of the Donor Care activities with all the retention strategy.
d. Is accountable on the donor experience and optimizing the ROI of the Donor Care activities
e. Supervises the good use of the brand, the truthfulness and the quality of the management carried out by each of the fundraising agencies.
f. Reports on Donor Care activities performance, with the focus on helping ensure that all interaction of donors with UNICEF campaigns improve their lifetime value for the organization (throughout all channels: telemarketing, email, WhatsApp, social media, etc.)
g. Ensure the services provided by partners follow UNICEF rules and regulation.
h. Asist to regular meetings with donor care fundraising team to monitor on-going commitment on the deliverables.
i. Deliver the relevant information for developing annual work plan and budget for Donor Care Activities.

• Work closely with all teams in Private Sector Fundraising (PSFR) teams, implementing partner and agencies to ensure project and requirements alignment of needs and scope.

• Understand the business operation considering where efficiencies can be made.

• Collaborates on the implementation of the Donor Care strategy.

• Lead efficient and timely contract procurement and invoice process and any other related.

• Manage budget to ensure funding is always available and properly allocated.

• Manage all consent, licenses, and other agreements with UNICEF third parties and ensure that all contracts are kept up to date in the VISION system and all invoices are processed and paid on time.

The individual fundraising operation needs an operational capacity associated with the implementation of the retention strategy that requires working with groups of fundraisers, checking their performance, monitoring quality, generating campaign reports etc.

To implement the future individual fundraising work plans aimed at increase RR funds we need to reinforce the team operational capacities. This post will help the expansion program under five complementary logics:

- Continuous and systematic control and overview of each campaign
- Continuous and systematic data analysis and segmentation to prepare strategies intended to improve donor retention and value maximization at all DJ level (tmk, digital, etc.)
- Correct compilation of data and results for decision making
- Management of relationships with providers and vendors

The following minimum requirements:

Education: Completion of secondary education, preferably supplemented by management, marketing, sales, communications or related areas training or university courses in these areas.

Work Experience: A minimum of 6 years of practical work experience with supervising sells work groups, customer support, contact center, as supervisor or team leader. Fundraising experience in Telemarketing is an asset.

  • A bachelor’s degree from a recognized academic institution in a field relevant to the position may be considered to compensate for three (3) years of experience in case the candidate lacks the required experience.
  • A master’s degree from a recognized academic institution in a field relevant to the position may be considered to compensate for an additional two (2) years (in addition to the three years from above, totaling 5 years).

• Language Requirements: Fluency in English and Spanish.
