How can you make a difference?

The Division of Data, Analytics, Planning and Monitoring (DAPM) was established in 2019 to drive decision making and organizational learning, improve effectiveness and achievement of results of UNICEF and its partners to realize the rights and improve the life of every child. DAPM promotes the use of data, analytics, planning and monitoring, and related aspects of strategic country programme management, to achieve transformative impact for children. The Division is responsible for driving, shaping and guiding UNICEF’s evidence-informed analysis, corporate and country planning, programme implementation and related risk management, monitoring, knowledge management and organizational performance. As such, DAPM enables the organization to deliver on results in a more coherent manner, based on agile and contextualized programming processes, and on data, evidence, and analytics, as well as the application of human-rights based and results-based approaches. Within DAPM, the Programme Effectiveness Team (PET) leads, regulates and coordinates the development and issuance of organization-wide policies, procedures, standards, guidance, systems, tools and platforms to strengthen programme effectiveness across all contexts, including programme planning, implementation and related risk management, safeguarding, monitoring, organizational performance, knowledge management, at all levels.  In doing so, PET engages with all divisions/offices across HQ as well as with all regional offices, UN agencies, funds and programmes, specialized agencies, other technical organizations and the UN Development Coordination Office. One of PET’s objectives is to enhance its Knowledge Management capabilities by harmonizing and integrating the knowledge systems across the organization with a view to streamline information flow, improve data accessibility, and foster a culture of knowledge sharing.

As a part of its Knowledge Management (KM) and Programme Effectiveness work, UNICEF has developed two platforms to facilitate knowledge access and dissemination:

  1. Programme Policy and Procedure Site (PPPX) is an internal KM platform that provides UNICEF staff with access to Policies, Procedures, guidance and information on all aspects of UNICEF programming to empower UNICEF personnel to take informed decisions at any step of the programme cycle and beyond.
  2. Knowledge at UNICEF (K@U) is a UNICEF web publishing platform which allows UNICEF to share technical and knowledge products externally with partners and the public and makes it easy to engage around them related to all areas of our work.

This position will provide day-to-day management for the two platforms including training, support and site maintenance. The purpose of the job is to:

  1. Facilitate Global Rollout: Coordinate and support the global implementation of PPPX and K@U, ensuring user adoption across all offices.
  2. Provide User Support: Deliver first-line user support, manage enhancement requests, troubleshoot issues, and maintain comprehensive FAQs and standard responses.
  3. Develop Training and Communication Materials: Create and distribute user guides, training materials, success stories, and regular updates to keep users informed and engaged.
  4. Ensure Continuous Improvement: Monitor platform performance, gather user feedback, and implement enhancements to maintain and improve the platforms.

  • Minimum requirements
        1. Education: Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in Info. Technology, Communications, Information Systems , Knowledge Management, Website Design, Digital Marketing and any other related fields.
        2. Work Experience: At Least 2 years of relevant work experience in Information Communication Technology, Information Technology, Communication, Knowledge Management , Web Design, Website Management, Content Management, Digital Marketing, Marketing.
        3. Skills: Creative Writing, SharePoint, Drupal, Training and Capacity Building
        4. Language Requirements: English.
  • Desirables
      1. Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language
      2. UNICEF experience, Experience in Multilateral institutions and international organizations
      3. Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergencies.

Otherwise, the selection will be canceled.
