For every child, a voice 

UNICEF Indonesia is recruiting a national consultant to support the organization in actively engaging and mobilising networks including youth-led organisations, universities and other academic institutions, to reach more young people to access and learn by utilizing the Fundoo platform.

Launched by UNICEF HQ in 2020, FunDoo is a digital life coach that equips youn.g people with 21st century skills, employability skills, and provide access to information on careers, mental health, climate change.
It is an initiative by UNICEF Office of Innovation which leverages UNICEF’s U-Report chat-based platform supported by RapidPro back-end system and is available on WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram and Facebook Messenger. As a low-bandwidth solution, FunDoo enables learning opportunities in areas with low internet connectivity. It has been created to provide young people and adolescents from 14 to 24 years access to holistic, quality education and learning opportunities. So far, more than 1 million users have registered on FunDoo. FunDoo is currently active in India, Indonesia, Greece and Eastern Caribbean Area, Jamaica, Uzbekistan, Uganda, and Mozambique.

FunDoo in Indonesia, focuses on adolescent health, was introduced in 2024. Topics include mental health via fun analogy, HPV via comic, and soon on youth advocacy about climate. The content developed for FunDoo is byte-sized and gamified; the tasks can be completed at home and follow the learning by doing tasks. It has been accessed by more than 30,000 users in Indonesia.

This initiative is part of a grant received to promote awareness of the importance of HPV vaccination, as part of a comprehensive adolescent health agenda, and complements UNICEF Indonesia’s efforts to support the Government of Indonesia in increasing HPV vaccination rates and addressing cervical cancer.

How can you make a difference? 

The consultant will be responsible for the following tasks:
1. To coordinate U-Report Fundoo partnership in Indonesia to recruit a minimum of 10,000 FunDoo users who complete the module, by liaising with youth networks and academic/educational institutions, mapping relevant networks, nurturing partnership for sustainability
2. Lead on digital learning design and modification in order to develop the U-Report Fundoo partnership package that caters to the needs of universities as well as youth networks. The system will also include users' retention in the RapidPro backend system
3. To monitor and evaluate U-Report Fundoo partnership, including preparing the periodic report and recommendation
4. Ensure alignment of approaches with UNICEF’s internal programme stakeholders (Health and ADAP teams).

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

- Bachelor’s degree in communication, computer science, digital media, youth development, public health, international relations, social sciences, or any relevant field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in partnership outreach and project management, preferably in digital platforms or educational content development.
- Familiarity with digital education technologies and trends, including online community engagement.
- Technical expertise in modifying digital learning platforms and solid knowledge of user experience (UX).
- Proven experience in project management, preferably in digital platforms or educational content development.
- Strong understanding of youth engagement strategies, health education, and technology for development.
- Excellent facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Creative thinker with the ability to innovate and adapt content to various contexts.
- Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
