Vacancy Advert - Internship – Support for EVM Assessment & Monitoring of CHN/PHC Activities.

For every child, a champion!

In the Maldives, UNICEF supports the government in strengthening health systems, improving nutrition, learning outcomes, strengthening child protection systems, and enhancing youth development through evidence-based programming and capacity building.

In 2025, UNICEF Maldives, together with the National Immunization Program of the Health Protection Agency, is undertaking a comprehensive Effective Vaccine Management (EVM) Assessment to evaluate and improve the national immunization supply chain. This includes assessor training, data collection across multiple islands, data cleaning, and dissemination of findings. Additionally, UNICEF is supporting the Ministry of Health in strengthening community engagement of the Primary Health Care (PHC) teams to enhance service delivery and community outreach.

To support these initiatives, UNICEF Maldives seeks to engage an intern who can assist with implementation aspects such as operational logistics, documentation, and coordination. The intern will also play a key role in closely monitoring and supporting Community Health and Nutrition (CHN) work in the islands, and provide support to ensure that health promotion and outreach activities are effectively implemented.

The internship will provide young professionals with hands-on experience in public health programming, while contributing to accelerate UNICEF child health priorities and flagships, and meaningfully to UNICEF’s mission.

How can you make a difference?

Purpose and Objectives:

  • Provide undergraduates (18–24 years) with work experience and life skills.
  • Support operational and logistical aspects of EVM Assessment and PHC trainings.
  • Demonstrate how internships at UNICEF can enhance youth employability.
