For every child, the right to learn
UNICEF has developed an online course titled “Using Assistive Technology in Education: A Guide for Teachers and Schools”, which provides a comprehensive framework for educators and school teams on integrating assistive technology (AT) into inclusive education. The course includes definitions, pedagogical strategies, lesson planning, whole-school approaches, and practical tools such as assessment templates and implementation plans.
The English version of the course is context-neutral and foundational. UNICEF Refugee Response Office in Poland seeks to adapt this course to the national context by incorporating relevant Polish policies, practices, and examples to better support local educators in implementing assistive technologies effectively.
How can you make a difference?
The selected Contractor will be responsible for the adaptation of the existing English-language course on assistive technology in inclusive education to the Polish educational context, ensuring relevance, usability, and alignment with national frameworks and practices.
In more details, the Contractor will:
- Review the original and translated course materials, including the online modules, PDF guide, and promotional video, and check the accuracy of specialist terminology.
- Conduct a desk review of Polish policies, strategies, and practices related to inclusive education and assistive technology.
- Consult with key stakeholders and potential users (e.g., Ministry of National Education, ORE, experts) to gather insights and validate contextual relevance.
- Adapt the course content and propose changes to reflect Polish regulations, terminology, and relevant examples, to engage Polish audience.
- Work closely with UNICEF to ensure alignment with strategic priorities and receive feedback on at least 2 drafts.
- Test and validate the course content with key stakeholders and potential users and address their comments.
- Submit the final adapted course materials in Polish, ready for integration into the online course.
Deliverables/Milestones – Timeline:
- Review of source materials and desk research - No later than 10 December 2025
- Draft adapted course content (online modules, PDF guide) - No later than 15 January 2026
- Stakeholder consultations and feedback integration - No later than 10 February 2026
- Final and approved version of adapted course and report - No later than 28 February 2026

Minimum requirements:
- Education: A minimum of Masters Degree in areas related to education.
- Work Experience: At least 5 years of relevant work experience in assistive technology applications in special and inclusive education context.
- Proven experience in designing programs on assistive technology in education.
- Experience in developing high quality evidence-based training materials.
- Prior collaboration with international networks, initiatives, and experts.
- Recognition or citation in relevant reports or publications.
- Language Requirements: Fluency in Polish and English, with the ability to adapt international frameworks to local cultural and legal contexts.
To be eligible for consideration, Contractors must meet the following minimum criteria:
Proven experience in designing and delivering psychological training programs, particularly in crisis response and trauma-informed care.

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance. Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station is required for IP positions and will be facilitated by UNICEF. Otherwise, the selection will be canceled.
