Background:
On 1st July 2024 UNICEF launched its 2024 Global Staff Survey (GSS), the survey provided valuable insights into the perceptions, experiences, and needs of staff across the office. In February 2025, UNICEF Guinea-Bissau released its Action Plan based on the results of the Key findings confirmed a strong desire among staff for improvements in accountability, teambuilding, workplace culture, professional
development and career support. To support this, UNICEF Guinea-Bissau is organizing a Staff Retreat in October 2025, designed to promote reflection, open dialogue, team building, and collective engagement. The retreat is part of the office’s broader effort to respond meaningfully to the results of the 2024 Global Staff Survey (GSS).

Objectives of the Assignment:
Design and deliver one day UNICEF Staff Retreat aiming to strengthen team cohesion, improved understanding of office priorities, and renewed staff motivation to contribute to a supportive and high performing office culture and UNICEF’s values and shared goals.
Scope of Work:
The consultant will prepare and facilitate a one-day interactive retreat designed to:
- Reinforce teamwork and internal collaboration.
- Strengthen understanding of sustainability and mental health at work.
- Promote learning and staff engagement.
- Provide staff with tools to enhance personal and collective performance.
Under the supervision of the COSA Chair, the consultant will:
- Design the retreat agenda and training methodology in consultation with management.
- Prepare facilitation tools and materials for interactive learning and reflection.
- Facilitate the one-day retreat with sessions focused on:
- Team collaboration and communication
- Workplace well-being and resilience
- Sustainability and environmentally conscious practices
- Appreciation and recognition culture - Prepare a short report summarizing the retreat proceedings, key reflections, and recommendations for follow-up
Payment Terms:
UNICEF will pay the full amount as per the contract upon satisfactory facilitation of the retreat and subject to the
finalization and approval of the retreat report.

Minimum requirements:
- Education: Master’s degree in social sciences, Management, or a closely related field.
- Work Experience: 5 -10 years of relevant professional experience, proven track record of facilitating team building and knowledge
sharing workshops and consultancy experience. - Skills :Excellent analytical, research, writing and communication skills.
- Language Requirements: Full computer literacy and fluency in Portugues and French or English – both written and spoken – are required.
- Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
