For every child, the right to be seen
The Fundraising Officer (Acquisition and New Business), at the NO-B Level, in the Fundraising area, in Chile Country Office, reports to Fundraising Specialist NO-C level. The incumbent will provide support to continue to increase the income of the individual channel and diversify income portfolio. This position will supervise the donors acquisition strategy and identify new business models to increase the income of area.
How can you make a difference?
Under the overall guidance of the Fundraising Specialist (NO-C), the incumbent is responsible for identifying, prospecting and cultivating new business income opportunities, with a focus on individual giving acquisition and Corporate Pathways to Pledge initiatives. The role also designs and leads the integrated strategy for the acquisition of new individual donors across offline and digital channels, with a clear focus on sustainable revenue growth, diversification of the donor base, and donor quality.
The position will aim to maximize the long-term value of each new donor, ensuring high standards of quality, efficiency, and return on investment (ROI) across all acquisition campaigns and channels. Working closely with the Sustainable Growth Officer, this role has direct impact on the onboarding of new donors.
With a strong emphasis on innovation and the development of new business models, this role will be responsible for exploring, designing, and implementing strategic partnerships with the private sector, enabling access to new audiences, customer bases, and employee populations as relevant sources for acquisition and retention. This includes identifying opportunities for co-creation, commercial agreements, innovative giving mechanisms, and new recurring giving offers, both for regular donations and one-off cash contributions, tailored to different prospective donor segments.
The role will lead the diversification and scaling of acquisition channels, including the consolidation of the digital acquisition area under an integrated vision focused on continuous innovation, strategic use of data, and optimization of digital channel performance as a key driver for expanding the individual donor base. It will also contribute to strengthening UNICEF’s positioning through joint fundraising, advocacy, and rights-awareness actions within the framework of strategic partnerships.
Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Fundraising Specialist (NO-C), and within the delegated authority and organizational set-up, the incumbent may be assigned the primary, shared, or contributory accountabilities for all or part of the following areas of major duties and key end-results.
1.Strategic Leadership & Channel Oversight
Lead, supervise and oversee the fundraising marketing strategy to new donors. Supervise, monitoring and guide the optimization of the integrated individual donor portfolio strategy across traditional (offline) and digital channels, ensuring coherence, performance and alignment with organizational growth objectives. Directly supervise the NOA Fundraising (acquisition) responsible for offline acquisition channels and NOA Fundraising officer (Digital) providing strategic guidance, follow-up and operational oversight.
2. New Business Models & Strategic Partnerships
Identify, develop and lead the implementation of new business models based on Corporate Pathways to pledge mechanisms, including strategic partnerships with the private sector, to access new audiences, customer bases and employee populations. Oversee co-creation initiatives, commercial agreements and innovative fundraising propositions that contribute to increasing and maximizing the income opportunities.
3. Performance Management, Monitoring & ROI
Define, monitor and evaluate key performance indicators across all acquisition portfolio, ensuring high standards of donor quality, efficiency, return on investment and long-term value. Use data-driven insights to guide investment decisions, channel prioritization and continuous improvement.
4. Digital Acquisition Leadership & Innovation
Lead and consolidate the digital acquisition function under an integrated, innovation-driven and data-informed vision, ensuring the scalability and sustained growth of digital channels as a key driver of individual donor expansion.
5. Cross-Functional Coordination & Retention Alignment
Work closely with the Retention team, to ensure alignment between onboarding new donors and retention strategies, consistency of the donor portfolio and achievement of medium- and long-term growth targets.
Key Accountabilities and Duties:
Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Fundraising Specialist (NO-C), and within the delegated authority and established organizational structure, the incumbent may be assigned primary, shared or contributory accountabilities for the following key areas of responsibility and expected end-results.
The position is responsible for developing annual work plans for the introduction and implementation of a profitable individual donor acquisition pledge program, in full compliance with UNICEF Rules and Regulations.
Upon approval of the work plan, the incumbent ensures effective oversight of its implementation and adherence to the approved budget, in close coordination with the Operations Section.
Key Accountabilities:
• Responsible for the day-to-day leadership and performance oversight of the individual donor acquisition function, supporting the design, execution and continuous optimization of integrated acquisition strategies across offline and digital channels, under the overall guidance of the Fundraising Specialist (NO-C).
• Supports the achievement of fundraising income and new donor acquisition targets by monitoring results, ensuring timely implementation of corrective actions and promoting acquisition quality that maximizes long-term donor value.
• Leads data-driven testing and continuous improvement across acquisition channels, including identification, piloting and scaling of new approaches, value propositions and channels to enhance performance, efficiency and scalability.
• Leads the implementation and evolution of new financing and business models, including Corporate Pathways to Pledge and partnership-based acquisition initiatives, to access new audiences, customer bases and employee populations as sustainable sources of acquisition and growth. Coordinates with relevant focal points to ensure appropriate screening, due diligence and brand risk safeguards.
• Serves as liaison with Private Sector Partnerships/Alliances colleagues to align partnership-based acquisition initiatives with partnership and advocacy strategies.

Minimum requirements:
- Education: A university degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics or other related field is required. An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) is an asset.
- Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years of progressively relevant work experience in fundraising and/or marketing, with demonstrated experience in donor acquisition and growth strategies across offline and digital channels (e.g., face-to-face, telemarketing, direct marketing, digital paid media), campaign planning and performance optimization (KPIs, ROI, testing). Experience working with data-driven audience segmentation, donor journey/onboarding, and managing external suppliers/agencies is highly desirable. Experience in managing donor portfolios and supporting new business strategies based on Corporate Pathways to Pledge mechanisms is required. It will be an asset to have knowledge of private sector screening, due diligence and brand risk processes.
