Fundraising (PFP) in UNICEF Uruguay plays a key role in generating sustainable, flexible resources from individuals and private sector audiences to support UNICEF’s country programme and advocacy priorities. The Individual Giving function operates in a dynamic market environment and relies on a multi-channel model—working closely with internal counterparts and external suppliers/agencies—to implement acquisition, retention and value maximization activities, ensure strong donor care standards, and maintain compliance with UNICEF brand, ethical and due diligence requirements. Within this context, the post contributes to strengthening operational delivery, performance monitoring and data-driven optimization of Individual Giving initiatives in Uruguay.
Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Fundraising Manager (NO-C), the Fundraising Officer – Individual Giving (NO-A) supports the operational management and implementation of the Individual Giving programme in Uruguay.
The incumbent coordinates day-to-day execution, monitoring and optimization of Individual Giving activities across key channels, supports vendor coordination and performance tracking, and contributes analysis and recommendations to strengthen sustainable income growth, donor retention and lifetime value, in line with the country fundraising strategy.
The incumbent supports the effective execution, monitoring and optimization of Individual Giving activities across relevant channels, including Digital fundraising, Face-to-face acquisition, Telemarketing / SMS, DRTV and other direct response channels, Lead generation initiatives, Retention and value maximization campaigns, Donor care and service, and Legacy fundraising.
The role contributes to sustainable income growth, strengthening donor lifetime value (LTV), donor retention, and efficient budget management and performance monitoring across all channels.
How can you make a difference?
1. Operational Support to the Individual Giving Programme
Support the implementation of the Individual Giving annual workplan in line with the country fundraising strategy.
Translate assigned strategic objectives into operational activities and contribute to channel-level planning and KPI tracking.
Contribute to donor acquisition, retention and upgrade initiatives to support income growth.
Monitor assigned elements of the Individual Giving portfolio (income, ROI, attrition, LTV) and highlight variances or risks for management attention.
Propose adjustments to improve operational efficiency and programme performance.
2. Channel Management and Performance Monitoring
Support the definition and monitoring of channel-level targets and KPIs.
Track and analyze key performance indicators such as ROI, cost per acquisition, conversion and retention metrics.
Ensure quality checks and operational compliance across assigned acquisition channels.
Liaise with suppliers on day-to-day matters, assist with contract administration and support performance reviews.
Provide inputs for budget reallocation proposals based on performance data.
3. Donor Retention and Value Optimization
Support the implementation of retention and donor development activities aimed at maximizing donor lifetime value.
Assist in planning and executing upgrade, cross-sell and reactivation campaigns.
Monitor donor behaviour, including segmentation and attrition trends, and provide analytical insights to inform decision-making.
Contribute to donor care processes, ensuring timely and quality responses to donor enquiries.
Support the development and monitoring of early-stage legacy fundraising activities as required.
4. Data Analysis, Reporting and Programme Insights
Maintain and update reporting tools covering acquisition performance, retention rates, LTV, attrition, ROI and campaign results.
Conduct basic analysis of internal and external market data to support operational decisions.
Prepare regular and ad hoc reports for management review.
Contribute to income forecasting and scenario planning by providing accurate data inputs.
Promote the use of data and evidence across the Individual Giving programme.
5. Coordination and Support to Team Processes
Coordinate with relevant team members to monitor progress of workplan activities and address operational challenges.
Provide day-to-day guidance or coordination to interns, assistants or junior staff, where applicable.
Support performance management processes by ensuring timely submission of documentation and monitoring of work outputs.
Contribute to a collaborative and results-oriented team environment.
6. Financial and Administrative Support
Support preparation and monitoring of the Individual Giving budget by providing accurate expenditure and income data.
Track expenditures against approved plans and flag discrepancies or delays.
Assist in procurement processes, including drafting Terms of Reference, gathering quotations and supporting supplier selection.
Ensure adherence to UNICEF financial and administrative procedures in daily operations.
Use corporate systems (e.g., VISION) for routine financial tracking and reporting tasks.
The Fundraising Officer – Individual Giving (NOA) contributes to UNICEF Uruguay’s income growth and sustainability by supporting the effective implementation of acquisition and retention campaigns, strengthening donor lifetime value and retention rates, improving cost-efficiency and ROI across channels, enhancing data-driven decision-making, and ensuring operational excellence and compliance.

Minimum requirements:
- Education: University degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Economics or related field. Additional training in fundraising, digital marketing or data analytics is an asset.
- Work Experience: Minimum 1 year of progressively responsible experience in fundraising, digital/direct marketing, customer acquisition/retention, or revenue-generating roles. Experience supporting multi-channel campaign implementation (e.g., digital, face-to-face, telemarketing/SMS, direct response), monitoring KPIs (income, ROI, CPA, attrition, LTV), and coordinating with vendors/agencies and internal stakeholders. Experience with CRM (preferably Salesforce) and reporting tools is highly desirable. Prior experience in NGOs/international organizations is an asset.
- Language Requirements: Fluency in English and Spanish.
