How can you make a difference?
This assignment aims to strengthen the development and use of UNICEF’s Adolescent Kit to support skills-based education, youth engagement and MHPSS, particularly in refugee, displaced and humanitarian contexts. It will include technical assistance, development of new resources and tools, youth-led implementation, and capacity-building for UNICEF country teams and partners.

Minimum requirements:
- Education: Master’s degree in international affairs, development or humanitarian affairs; education; psychology; youth development
- Work Experience:
- Minimum 10 years
- Professional experience working on education or youth development initiatives in relation to humanitarian response, and refugee protection.
- Demonstrated experience designing and/or supporting implementation of education, life skills, psychosocial support or youth development initiatives for young people ages 12-25 in humanitarian or fragile contexts.
- Demonstrated experience designing and leading effective trainings and/or capacity building initiatives with and for humanitarian and educational professionals, governmental officials, NGO staff and/or youth leaders, through both in-person and remote training modalities.
- Experience and expertise in monitoring and evaluation of educational and/or youth engagement initiatives utilizing both qualitative and quantitative methods, including participatory methods with youth and/or affected populations.
- Experience developing successful proposals, reports and other materials for donors and external partners.
- Language requirement: Fluency in English
- Skills:
- Knowledge of current research and evidence on education and other initiatives to support adolescents and youth development of transferable, socioemotional, critical thinking and/or life skills.
- Knowledge of human rights frameworks, current research and new global initiatives in relation to young people’s participation in policy and programming, and social and civic engagement.
- Knowledge of and experience utilizing qualitative and quantitative research and evaluation methods, including participatory methods, surveys, questionnaires, stakeholder interviews, and statistical analysis.
- Knowledge and familiarity with UNICEF and Inter-agency standing committee guidance, standards and frameworks, including the Core Commitments for Children, refugee policy frameworks, IASC Guidelines on working with and for young people in humanitarian action, and education in emergencies.
Desirables:
- Knowledge of another language is an asset
