For every child, the right to Deliver

UNICEF Supply Division (SD) works to ensure equitable and inclusive access to essential supplies and services for children and their families across development, humanitarian and fragile contexts. SD brings together global supply chain expertise, market engagement, and partnerships with governments, civil society, the private sector, industry, and other stakeholders to support the needs of children worldwide.

This provides a strong operational and partnership foundation for the Humanitarian and Transport Logistics Alliance (HTLA) and its focus on strengthening humanitarian transport and logistics through collaboration across sectors.

The Humanitarian Transport and Logistics Alliance (HTLA) is a strategic UNICEF-led initiative designed to strengthen the resilience, efficiency, preparedness, and performance of humanitarian supply chains through structured collaboration between humanitarian organizations, commercial transport and logistics providers, governments, donors, academia, and other strategic stakeholders.

Building on UNICEF's role as holder of the United Nations Long-Term Arrangement (LTA) for global freight forwarding and transportation services, its established relationships with global carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics service providers, HTLA provides a coordination and operational mechanism to facilitate faster, more predictable and cost-effective movement of humanitarian goods. Through partnership MoUs with carriers, humanitarian shipments can benefit from priority handling and expedited bookings, alongside preferential conditions that help reduce delays and avoid additional logistics costs. These arrangements provide a strong operational and partnership foundation on which HTLA can build.

Building on this established foundation and the value already being delivered, HTLA aims to progressively strengthen and broaden the model into a multi-stakeholder alliance. The intention is to protect and expand the operational benefits already achieved while creating a structured mechanism through which humanitarian and commercial actors, and other strategic partners, can strengthen preparedness, address shared supply chain bottlenecks and develop collective solutions that improve humanitarian logistics resilience and system-wide performance.

The Partnerships Coordinator will play a central role in taking this work forward, driving implementation of the HTLA roadmap, coordinating stakeholders and supporting the Alliance's continued development.

How can you make a difference?

The Partnerships Coordinator will lead the day-to-day implementation and coordination of HTLA, translating its agreed strategic direction and roadmap into a functioning alliance. The role will drive delivery across the HTLA workplan, coordinate internal and external stakeholders, establish fit-for-purpose governance and ways of working, monitor progress and results, and ensure that decisions, dependencies and risks are actively managed. Under the supervision of the Chief, GTLC, the position will work closely with logistics and partnership functions colleagues, and relevant other technical and partnership functions. The post holder will serve as the central coordination and focal point for HTLA and ensure coherence across partnership development, industry engagement, governance, communications, resource mobilization and results monitoring.

Key functions, accountabilities and related duties/tasks:

  1. Strategic Leadership and HTLA development
  2. HTLA design, implementation and monitoring
  3. Multi-Stakeholder Coordination and Alliance Management
  4. Governance and Partnership Development
  5. Budget management, Resource Mobilization and Sustainability
