How can you make a difference?

UNICEF Supply Division seeks to initiate Phase 1 (Scoping and Design) of a Sustainability Data Management (SDM) system to address a critical gap in its ability to systematically collect, verify, analyze, and report sustainability data across its supply chain.

Sustainability—including environmental, social, and safeguarding dimensions—is a core UNICEF priority embedded in UNICEF core values and mainstreamed in the 2026–2029 UNICEF Supply Division strategic plan. However, UNICEF currently lacks a centralized system to manage sustainability data and associated reporting requirements, resulting in fragmented, inconsistent, and resource-intensive processes.

The purpose of this consultancy is to develop the foundational elements of an SDM system, including data requirements, verification methodologies, governance structures, and an implementation roadmap. This will enable UNICEF to strengthen ESG risk management, meet increasing donor expectations, and support data-driven procurement decisions and effective monitoring and reporting.
