Purpose of Activity/Assignment:
The service provider will deliver effective presentation techniques training for staff in the Regional Office.
The participants will learn to tailor their messages to the audience, utilize visual aids effectively, and employ confident delivery techniques such as clear articulation, controlled pacing, and eye contact.
Scope of Work:
The training will be conducted over the month of February 2025 according to teams’ schedules and availability. Detailed schedule is highlighted under deliverables in this Terms of Reference. The course content will be customized based on needs for a full-day program from 9 AM to 4 PM. Expected number of participants is 80-90 from Regional Office. Staff will be combined in 13-groups (with 7 to 9 staff members in each group).
The participants will learn to tailor their message to the audience, utilize visual aids effectively, and employ confident delivery techniques such as clear articulation, controlled pacing, and eye contact. The course emphasizes the importance of preparation, including managing nerves, anticipating questions, and using storytelling to create an emotional connection. By incorporating interactive elements and seeking feedback for continuous improvement, presenters can ensure their presentations are impactful, memorable, and persuasive.
Module 1: Foundations and Starting Strong
Ice breakers and energizers, introducing yourself and building credibility, Starting a session: housekeeping, rules, and roles. Setting expectations and objectives and Elements of powerful presentations.
Module 2: Building and Delivering Your Presentation
Understanding different presentation levels, Connecting with your topic, Components and steps of effective presentations, Co-facilitation techniques, Differences between online and face-to-face presentations.
Module 3: Engaging and Managing Your Audience
Building rapport with your audience, Common mistakes and overcoming presentation anxiety, Effective questioning techniques. Using hooks to engage your audience, handling difficult audiences and Utilizing technology and supporting material.

Minimum Qualifications required:
- Master’s in educational technology, Learning, Media and Communication and HR management.
- 5 years of experience.
- Skills required in International Professional Trainer and training managers.
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, French) is an asset.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
