How can you make a difference?  

Under the supervision of the Fundraising Specialist, this incumbent will be responsible for developing and leading a future-proof, performance-based digital marketing strategy and team that will grow and diversify our income, enhance donor acquisition, and optimize the entire donor journey from discovery to lifetime value. Some key activities include:

  1. Digital Fundraising Strategy and Management
  • Develop the overall digital fundraising strategy and workplan with annual targets in consultation and collaboration with the Head of Individual Giving.
  • Ensure income and donor acquisition targets are met according to budget and schedule.
  • Identify additional growth opportunities within the market and develop compelling business cases to support further investment
  • Create and manage comprehensive digital strategies and roadmap taking into donor-centric segmentation approach and ensuring a cohesive and customized customer experience across all digital channels
  • Create campaign/marketing briefs or concept notes, and lead the briefing process with agencies/suppliers
  • Work with digital agencies for campaign and channel strategy and media planning, providing strategic guidance to ensure they perform with the highest standards.
  • Foster digital innovation and testing drive sustainable digital income growth.
  • Ensure strong emergency response plans are in place to ensure that digital fundraising can be activated within 48 hours of an emergency

     2. Monitor and Optimize Digital Fundraising Performance

  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluations of marketing campaigns across digital channels.
  • Use digital analytic tools and dashboards to measure and analyze digital acquisition, efficiency and behavior trends.
  • Monitor, test, and optimize campaign performance to maximize the effectiveness of acquisition strategies against KPIs and targets
  • Evaluate campaign performance and implement improvements based on data-driven insights
  • Use a test and learn approach to campaigns to ensure continued success and incremental improvements.
  • Write and present reports on a periodic basis to PFP and to regional or global teams.
  1. Maintain and improve UNICEF’s donation infrastructure and e-Commerce ecosystem
  • Ensure that a landing page strategy is developed, implemented and optimized to maximize engagement and conversion.
  • Build the roadmap for new features and enhancements of the fundraising website, including UX/UI, eCommerce/analytics tracking, and payment gateway set-up and coordination
  • Ensure tight integration with other fundraising channels and activities to deliver a seamless experience for potential donors.
  1. Represent Digital Fundraising for the Wider Organization
  • Lead the digital implementation of cross-cutting activities such as lead generation, crowdfunding, direct response television, legacy fundraising and other acquisition efforts
  • Support donor retention activities by growing e-mail marketing and SMS/Chatbot programs and helping optimize donor journeys for value maximization and conversion
  • Provide corporate fundraising support with donor-partners, as needed
  • Assist in Communications-led activities such as celebrity/influencer management and social media community management and chat commerce.

    5. Team Leadership and Collaboration

  • Lead the digital fundraising team, providing guidance and support to achieve fundraising objectives.
  • Empower and nurture team members to succeed and grow through effective feedback, mentoring, and skill development strategies
  • Collaborate with the relevant teams to align and ensure cohesive and effective marketing and fundraising efforts.
  • As required, manage relationships and projects with external agencies (such as creative, performance marketing, and development agencies).

     6. Other Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Manage risks associated with digital fundraising activities and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Support the development of investment plans and business cases as required.
  • Provide technical expertise in digital donor fundraising tools and techniques.
  • Participate in knowledge-sharing platforms and processes to support the Digital Talent & Knowledge Management Strategy.

 

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Education - University Degree in one of the following fields is required: Marketing, Communications, Fundraising, Management, Business Administration, digital marketing, eCommerce or another relevant technical field. Additional training in a related field is an asset.

 Experience

  • A minimum of 2 (two) years of professional experience in eCommerce, digital fundraising, digital marketing, or other related field is required.
  • Previous managerial experience is essential.

Desirables

  • Additional years of experience with progressively increasing responsibilities, including direct responsibility for setting and meeting income targets will be considered an asset..
  • Experience in a similar industry, particularly in the non-profit sector, is preferred
  • Experience with alternative digital marketing strategies, including SEO, email marketing, influencer marketing, content marketing, and CRM channels is a strong advantage.
  • Knowledge of CRO, A/B testing, UI/UX, and online payments as well as experience in managing external web development agencies is an advantage
  • Experience in, and knowledge of, the country context.
  • Relevant marketing experience

 Languages

  • Fluency in English and Portuguese required.
