The Private Sector Fundraising and Partnerships Section (PSFP) within the UNICEF Division of Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP) works with National Committees and UNICEF Country Offices to maximize revenue and drive income growth. Inside PSFP, the Virtual Hub is an incubator serving as the digital function of 16 markets across MENA, ECARO and Singapore but also as the testing ground for new technologies, marketing channels and other types of innovation. The vision is to become the largest and most successful non-profit digital fundraising program in the world
How can you make a difference?
PURPOSE OF ASSIGNMENT:
The Website, Platforms and UX/UI Consultant will be responsible to enhance the organization's digital fundraising efforts by optimizing the website’s user experience, ensuring seamless integration with donation platforms, and implementing experimentation strategies to improve donor conversion rates. The Website, Platforms and UX/UI Consultant is ultimately responsible for the conversion rate optimization and business continuity of the Virtual Hub.
SCOPE OF WORK:
Website Optimization:
- Optimization: Ensure the website is fully optimized for mobile and desktop, focusing on donation pages, load speeds, and navigation in collaboration with in-house engineering team & vendors.
- Platform Management: Manage website updates using CMS platforms (e.g., Drupal) and ensure all donation forms are functioning and up to date.
- Integration: Ensure integrity of the integration of the website with the organization's Payment (Stripe) and CRM (Salesforce) to track donations and donor engagement data.
Technology Stack Business Continuity & Optimizations:
- Business continuity & reporting: Ensure the platforms uptime my continuous monitoring and, integration with relevant platforms (website, middleware, marketing tools) are in place with highest data accuracy. Provide reporting in Power BI tool for management when required.
- GGP 2.0 introduction & Proof of Concept (POC): Work closely with Product team to introduce GGP 2.0 in Virtual Hub markets. Identify & share learnings about the new product impact.
- New PSP introduction & Proof of Concept (POC): Work closely with FinHub and ICTD team to introduce new PSPs into Virtual Hub markets. Identify & share learnings about the new product impact.
UX/UI Design and Optimization:
- User-Centered Design: Design intuitive user journeys from website landing pages to donation completion, ensuring a smooth experience for donors.
- UX Testing: Conduct user testing to identify friction points in the donation process and propose design solutions to improve conversion rates.
- Brand Consistency: Ensure consistency in branding, visuals, and messaging across all digital interfaces.
A/B Testing and Experimentation:
- A/B Testing: Develop and execute A/B tests on donation pages, calls to action, and other key components to increase donations and engagement.
- Data-Driven Optimization: Use insights from Google Analytics, Optimizely, Hotjar, or similar platforms to monitor user behavior and propose improvements.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports on test outcomes, conversion rates, and insights gathered from user interactions.
Collaboration and Consultation:
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with the digital marketing team, content creators, and CRM administrators to ensure alignment between website content, marketing efforts, and donor data collection.
- Consultation: Provide guidance on best practices in web design, UX/UI, and digital fundraising strategies.
Share Insights with the Broader Organization:
- Document and share website, experimentation and UXI/UI insights with the broader organization, diligently following testing methodologies.
- Advocate for the most impactful tests and innovation, being an ambassador for digital best practices.
WORK ASSIGNMENTS OVERVIEW:
Website and UX/UI Optimization: Conduct audits, implement design improvements, and optimize the donation flow to enhance user experience and mobile responsiveness, while ensuring seamless CRM integration.
Website Business continuity & POC of new tech stack: Ensure existing tech stack, integrations and data integrations are in place with continuous audits & automation. Introduce new website (GGP 2.0) and PSP (Checkout, Nuvei) for Virtual Hub and identify learnings.
Experimentation and A/B Testing: Develop and execute a strategic A/B testing roadmap, analyze user behavior, and continuously refine key website elements (e.g., CTAs, donation forms) to improve conversion rates.
Collaboration and Data-Driven Enhancements: Work with the Data, CRM, integration teams to build a business continuity dashboard, track key performance metrics, and personalize user journeys based on donor segmentation and test results.
DELIVERABLES/OUTPUTS:
Deliverable 1: Onboarding, Discovery, and Auditing (by 31 December 2024)
- Complete onboarding and initial meetings with stakeholders, including Virtual Hub, Data and Digital teams.
- Conduct a website and UX/UI audit, identifying user flow bottlenecks and improvement areas.
- Review Virtual Hub tech stack, Website, Payment, CRM integration with Salesforce and assess data flow.
Deliverable 2: Strategy and Planning (by 31 January 2025)
- Analyze and adjust 12-month website optimization and experimentation strategy.
- Collaborate with the Data team to define metrics and KPIs for business continuity and website performance tracking.
- Analyze existing A/B testing roadmap focused on donation flows, calls-to-action, and landing pages.
Deliverable 3: Initial Implementations (by 28 February 2025)
- Implement key UX/UI improvements based on audit findings (e.g., mobile optimization, donation form enhancements).
- Work with the Data, Integration and CRM teams to design a business continuity dashboard for real-time website & data performance monitoring
- In collaboration with ICTD, conduct UAT of new release of existing website, provide feedback on issues.
Deliverable 4: A/B Testing Monitoring and Data Integration (by 31 March 2025)
- Launch initial A/B tests on donation forms and key CTAs, integrating data tracking tools.
- Collaborate with the Data, Integration and CRM teams to refine the business continuity dashboard with real-time user behavior metrics.
- Analyze set of A/B test results and present actionable insights.
Deliverable 5: UX/UI Refinement and Dashboard Optimization (by 30 April 2025)
- Implement UX/UI changes based on A/B test results (e.g., improved CTAs, simplified user flow).
- Enhance the business continuity dashboard to include more detailed user engagement metrics.
- In collaboration with ICTD, conduct UAT of new release of website, provide feedback on issues.
Deliverable 6: GGP 2.0 POC (New Website POC) (by 31 May 2025)
- Work with Product team to set-up POC for potential new website for Virtual Hub
- Ensure integrations & data accuracy in place
- Report on learnings & insights of new website compared to previous one.
Deliverable 7: FinHub introduction & POC Plans (by 30 June 2025)
- Closely collaborate with PFP IT, ICTD and FinHub teams on enabling new PSPs and integration with CRM, ensuring highest data accuracy.
- Update the business continuity dashboard to track segmented donor behaviors and test performance.
Deliverable 8: Mid-Year Review and Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) (by 31 July 2025)
- Analyze A/B testing data and UX changes to improve overall conversion rates.
- Work with the Data team to ensure the dashboard is capturing all relevant donor engagement and performance data.
- Present a mid-year report summarizing website performance and outlining the next phase of UX and A/B testing strategy.
Deliverable 9: FinHub integration (by 31 August 2025)
- Continue doing A/B testing, analysis and reports.
- Work with ICTD and PFP IT colleagues on potential new integration of new PSPs, ensuring data integrity between systems (Website, Payment, CRM)
- In collaboration with ICTD, conduct UAT of new release of website, provide feedback on issues.
Deliverable 10: Advanced UX/UI Techniques and Experimentation (by 30 September 2025)
- Implement advanced UX/UI techniques (e.g., interactive elements, micro interactions) to enhance the user experience.
- Collaborate with the Data team to test alternative user journeys based on collected data.
- Continue rolling out A/B tests from the updated roadmap to further refine user flows.
Deliverable 11: Final UX/UI, Website and PSPs Testing (by 31 October 2025)
- Run final A/B tests focusing on mobile experiences and the donation process.
- Conduct final tests on new website (GGP 2.0).
- Conduct final tests on new PSP integrations.
Deliverable 12: Final Reporting and Future Recommendations (by 30 November 2025)
- Deliver a comprehensive report on website optimization, A/B testing outcomes, and user behavior data.
- Provide a final review of the business continuity dashboard, ensuring it supports ongoing data-driven decision-making.
- Present recommendations for future tech stack, considering new website, new PSP and CRM integration.
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
Education:
- A first-level university degree (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) in web-design, UX/UI, marketing, computer science, engineering, technology, digital media, or any other relevant areas is required.
Experience:
- A minimum of two (2) years progressive experience in web design and development, Strong knowledge of UX/UI design principles, with experience in optimizing websites for conversions or online customer acquisition, and income.
- Expertise in A/B testing, user behavior analysis, and data-driven experimentation.
- Familiarity with CMS platforms (e.g., Drupal), CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), donation platform.
- Extensive data-crunching experience in Excel. Nice to have: SQL.
- Proficiency with tools like Google Analytics, Optimizely, Power BI, Hotjar, or similar.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal teams, cross-divisions (ICTD, Communication) and vendors.
- Experience in managing long-term and multiple projects simultaneously across 2 or more international geographies (Please do include the list of geographies you managed in your CV or cover letter).
Languages:
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language is considered as an asset.
Remarks:
Please indicate your all-inclusive (lump sum) fees against the deliverables listed above in the cover letter, If there is a need for business travel, the travel costs will be covered by UNICEF separately. The office selects the individual based on best value for money.
Payment of professional fees will be based on submission of agreed deliverables. UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment in case the deliverables submitted are not up to the required standard or in case of delays in submitting the deliverables on the part of the consultant.
