The UNICEF Country Office Development and Support (CODAS) section within Private Fundraising and Partnerships Division (PFP) in Geneva, Switzerland, is seeking a Digital Fundraising Specialist to carry out specific fundraising support in addition to supporting testing in MENA, ESA, ECA and WCA regions.
 
This role will be critical for Country Offices, new markets, and Clusters to deliver tests and develop on their digital plans and targets. The incumbent will work directly with the CODAS, PFP Teams, and Cluster and Country Office (CO) PSFR teams as well as the digital agencies managing the digital activity.

How can you make a difference? 

Scope of Work:
 
The consultant will translate the approved Private Sector and testing Plans in the assigned regions working with Clusters and PSFR CO’s where possible into pragmatic digital action plans, campaigns, operational support to achieve and maximise Private Sector Partnership (PSP) targets. The consultant will:
  • Boost current digital fundraising activities in relevant markets and launch new initiatives, starting activities in markets that are currently not fundraising.
  • Provide specialist input into the Clusters, CO implementation and test plans to achieve the digital goals.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of digital in relevant markets. Support markets in the region upon request, support the development of future PSP’s.
  • Collaborate with PSFR and Cluster teams to boost digital acquisition, integrate channels and boost retention. Work with markets to define lead nurturing processes and content. Support markets with agency management.
  • Support emergency fundraising campaigns, coordinating markets to be first movers in the region. For markets which are not currently fundraising, setting up SEM and remarketing campaigns.
  • Work with markets to optimize and creating an improvement plan on web funnel and digital activities through Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO).
  • Help to develop a digital A/B testing plan, working with technical providers local teams promoting new ways to improve conversion rate in every digital asset (web, email, apps, etc.).
  • Manage and optimize UNICEF’s global giving platform, content to provide tools for markets to fundraise. Identify system gaps.
  • Coordinate and onboard providers, following current contracts and activating new ones.
  • Share best practices in between markets: campaigns, content, emailing process, lead generation, and lead nurturing activities.
  • Run and coordinate digital webinars to share best practices among relevant markets.
Work Assignment Overview:
Support Implementation of Monthly Digital Goals in line with PSP plans
Provide Guidance on the PSP plans
 
Deliverables:
1x monthly report to include all CO’s, Cluster, and test markets, and outlining digital KPI’s v target ytd
All CO and Cluster PSP’s delivered on time in full

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

Education:
  • An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or higher) in one of the following fields is required: Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Fundraising, Management, or another relevant technical field.
  • Alternatively, a first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in combination with additional two (2) years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Experience:
  • A minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible work experience in digital marketing or digital fundraising areas, with specific focus on areas such as digital acquisition, cultivation and retention of pledge donors, integrated media planning, and marketing communications and multi-channel campaign management is required.
  • Experience and understanding working in developing markets is required.
  • Work experience in both agency and non-profit environments is considered an asset.
  • Specific digital media knowledge, analytics and tracking, A/B testing, SEO, proficiency in the use of search engine algorithms, coding, content management systems, search engine marketing (SEM), online paid media, web and donation forms development, UX, CRM, CRO, e-mail broadcasting tools & marketing automation tools. HTML experience is an asset.
  • The ideal candidate is a highly experienced fundraiser with proven success in the multiple deliverables of building up and leading a large team to successful outcomes.
  • An experienced leader who has worked in complex or sensitive situations.
  • Proven experience working in a multi-cultural environment and with cross-functional teams to deliver on common goals.
  • A strong understanding of UNICEF systems, processes, and operations of UNICEF regional and country offices is an asset.
Language:
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another UN language is an asset.

Remarks:  

Please indicate your all-inclusive (lump sum) fees against the deliverables listed above, including all associated administrative and travel costs (if applicable), in the cover letter. The office selects the individual based on best value for money.
 
Payment of professional fees will be based on submission of agreed deliverables. UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment in case the deliverables submitted are not up to the required standard or in case of delays in submitting the deliverables on the part of the consultant.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws. 

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment.
