UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential.

Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone.

And we never give up.

For every child, hope

UNICEF operates in over 190 countries and territories, helping children survive and thrive, from early childhood through adolescence. As the world’s largest provider of vaccines for developing countries, UNICEF supports child health and nutrition, access to clean water and sanitation, quality basic education for all boys and girls, and the protection of children from violence, exploitation, and AIDS. Funded entirely by voluntary contributions from individuals, businesses, foundations and governments, UNICEF has spent 70 years working to improve the lives of children and their families. UNICEF believes all children have the right to survive, thrive, and fulfill their potential – ultimately contributing to a better world.

The UNICEF Internship Programme offers qualified and eligible students at both Headquarters (HQ) and Country Offices (CO) a unique opportunity to gain direct practical experience in UNICEF's work and the United Nations system, under the direct supervision of experienced UNICEF staff.

UX/UI, Content Management intern for Virtual Hub

The Private Sector Fundraising and Partnerships Section (PSFP) within the UNICEF Division of Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP) works with National Committees and UNICEF Country Offices to maximize revenue and drive income growth. Within PSFP, the Digital Fundraising team is implementing a new Digital Revenue Strategy to Inspire, Collaborate, and Enable markets to enhance their digital fundraising results. The vision: become the largest and most successful non-profit digital fundraising program in the world.

The Virtual Hub is a digital-first model for individual giving in global markets, consisting of a core team of digital specialists focused on acquisition, retention, and lifetime value (LTV) – leading to an end-to-end donor experience across 16 UNICEF markets. The Virtual Hub follows a test, learn, and scale approach, using a minimum viable product (MVP) for donation campaigns, fundraising features, and content by early users. Feedback from these users informs future iterations and product development.

How can you make a difference?

Specific Tasks:
Under the supervision of the Content Lead (Virtual Hub), the intern will:

1. UX/UI design support – By working closely with the VH, Digital Delivery, and Content teams, review the existing key campaign pages and donor journey within the Virtual Hub platform. Offer suggestions for improvement in terms of content and design, implement basic UX/UI changes directly, and provide requirements and wireframes to the front-end development team for more advanced improvements.
2. Content management support – Through close collaboration with the content team, create and edit landing pages for campaigns based on provided content templates. Add translations, if required (based on provided translated documents), to the landing pages. Ensure that the landing pages follow UX/UI best practices and are compelling for potential donors.
3. Quality assurance of campaign pages support – Conduct basic quality assurance tests on donation pages for one-time and monthly donations. Ensure that the donation flow works as expected by following the end-to-end user journey. Confirm that campaign names, metadata, payments, and CRM data are flowing correctly for each campaign launch.
4. Reporting and Analysis support – Work closely with the Data and Insights team on the ongoing optimization of landing pages based on available dashboards. Suggest improvements based on CRO insights and support basic reporting, if requested, by extracting data from relevant sources (Stripe, Power BI, Salesforce) for the appropriate campaign stakeholders.
5. Design and Editing support - Create and edit visual assets using tools like Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) for campaigns, landing pages, and social media. Develop engaging and user-friendly designs through UX/UI tools like Figma or Sketch. Produce graphic design elements, such as icons, infographics, visuals, and videos, that align with UNICEF’s branding and campaign needs.

Deliverables:
1. Three UX/UI suggestions implemented in checkout process per month.
2. At least three to five donor and business user interviews per month.
