UNICEF in the State of Palestine (SoP) works to uphold the rights of children to access services and protection, from early childhood through to adolescence. Our objective is to ensure that every child in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, irrespective of background or circumstance, has an equal chance to fulfil their potential.

In the past years, UNICEF in the State of Palestine has achieved a high reach and engagement through its communication channels. UNICEF-SoP would like to build on this and continue engaging with our audience, who are not only seek information but are willing to have important conversations on crucial issues concerning children’s wellbeing and rights. 

How can you make a difference?

Under the supervision of the Reports Officer, NO-B, the Reports Officer, NO-A will be responsible for assisting in compiling and editing reports on and within the UNICEF State of Palestine programmes to ensure high-quality and timely reports are submitted to stakeholders, including development and humanitarian partners as well as donors.

Your key functions/accountabilities

- Supports the compilation and analyses of report inputs, in a timely manner and with good quality.

- Assists the reports officer in providing guidance to the CO programmes on donor reporting and requirements.

- Collaborates with the Partnerships team to establish a well-functioning system for managing the records of CO donor reports as well as other documents.

- Ensures the list of donor reports, including the type of reports and deadlines, reflected in the dashboard and other internal platforms are aligned with what is mentioned in donor agreements.

- Follows up with UNICEF HQ/PPD teams when necessary to seek support on report templates and guidance when needed.

- Compiles inputs from different sections and ensures conformity with the proposals, funds utilization, and planned results. Reviews, edits, and advises on layout and contents of the donor reports in cooperation with programme sections.

- Supports the submission of donor reports, including the upload of reports on UNICEF internal portal or through donors’ portals.

- Helps the reports officer in updating the quarterly emails with the list of upcoming donor reports and provide timely reminders to the sections to ensure that all donor reports are sent on time. Alerts senior management systematically when and if needed (Special Representative and Deputy Representative) to ensure timely submissions. 

- Acts as Officer in Charge during the absence of the reports officer.

 

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Education:

- University degree in humanities, business administration, public relations, strategic management, social sciences or any other relevant field.

Experience:

- Minimum one year of professional experience in development, technical writing and/ or policy analysis. Experience in international development and humanitarian interventions and experience in building relations with donors and in the humanitarian field are an asset.

Language Requirement:

- Fluency in English and Arabic is required. Fluency in English required to have high-quality written English for both drafting and editing.

Appointments may also be subject to inoculation (vaccination) requirements, including against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid). Should you be selected for a position with UNICEF, you either must be inoculated as required or receive a medical exemption from the relevant department of the UN. Otherwise, the selection will be canceled.
