BACKGROUND
Purpose of Activity/ Assignment:
The main objective of this assignment is to contribute to the development of online training products and deliver key communications to train and support UNICEF's Drupal CMS users. This aims to enable users worldwide to publish high-quality content that is critical to their communication activities. The assignment is essential to ensure that the globally distributed user base is well-trained to use the enterprise web platform.
Scope of Work:
Produce Drupal online courses: Planning and producing several course modules (advanced features, site maintenance, use of specific templates). Integrating courses into tools like Articulate Rise or Storyline, including scripts, voiceovers, and visual resources. Updating and maintaining training content: Performing periodic updates to reflect new or updated platform functionalities. Adjusting existing resources as needed. Live training sessions and related materials: Organizing up to three live training sessions. Providing short instructional videos and quarterly webinars. Communications and capacity building: Publishing bi-monthly newsletters to inform users about new features and available resources. Key deliverables: Producing and distributing various educational and technical materials. Ensuring consultations and revisions with stakeholders to guarantee quality.
Terms of Reference / Key Deliverables:
Deliverable 1: Plan and produce one e-course for using advanced Drupal platform features, including development of e-course script, recording voiceover, sourcing imagery and production in either Articulate Rise or Articulate Storyline.
- Prepare storyboard outlines/ conduct two rounds of consultation. Prepare one script for e-course voiceover/ conduct two rounds of consultation (24 February 2025)
- E-course page production and file/s upload, on internal learning management system. Document course structure in e-course management database, for ongoing management (1 March 2025)
Deliverable 2: Plan and produce one Drupal e-course for users of the Partnership Announcement template, including development of e-course script, recording voiceover, sourcing imagery and production in either Articulate Rise or Articulate Storyline.
- Prepare one storyboard outlining the structure of the e-course and modules, and the functionality included. Conduct two rounds of consultation and feedback with key stakeholders (20 March 2025)
- Prepare one script for e-course voiceover. Conduct two rounds of consultation and feedback with key stakeholders (30 March 2025)
- Production of above e-course in Articulate, including visuals, screen casts and voiceover recording. Conduct two rounds of feedback/revisions on the final product before launching (23 April 2025)

Deliverable 3: Plan and produce Drupal maintenance e-course, including development of e-course script, recording voiceover, sourcing imagery and production in either Articulate Rise or Articulate Storyline.

Deliverable 4: Periodically identify required updates to reflect newly introduced or updated platform functionality (up to 5 times during contract). Make updates to 5 e-courses based on audit, including updating screenshots/screencasts, voiceover snippets, and copy edits

Deliverable 5: Draft, build edit and send 06 bi-monthly email newsletters to Drupal users, to share training content, information on new features and how to use them, and other available engaging content (up to 6 email newsletters throughout contract). For each email newsletter: Plan email content in partnership with contract supervisor, using existing template, produce the email newsletter in MailJet, conduct two rounds of feedback/revisions with supervisor.

Deliverable 7: Plan and deliver a live training session to new or existing Drupal users as needed (up to 3 times during contract): Repurpose existing training session agendas and sample content to plan session. Prepare any required training content. Deliver training session to users live via Microsoft Teams. Record and share the session with users.

Qualifications
Education:
Advanced university degree (Bachelors) in the area of communication, digital communication, learning/instructional design, business, or another closely related field is required.
Work experience:
Knowledge/Expertise/Skills required *:
- At least 3 years’ experience developing and delivering learning/training resources and initiatives for users of technology, including delivery of live training.
- At least 2 years’ experience planning/designing and producing online e-courses or other digital learning products to meet specific training objectives (applicants should provide links or attachments of work examples)
- At least 2 years’ experience completing advanced web content production, training or technical support using Drupal 9 or 10 content management system (CMS)
- Demonstrated experience using Articulate 360 Rise and Storyline to produce training e-courses.
- Demonstrated experience producing written and video/screenshare content with voiceover.
- Fluency in English is required.

- Any emergent / unforeseen duty travel and related expenses will be covered by UNICEF.
- At the time the contract is awarded, the selected candidate must have in place current health insurance coverage.
- Payment of professional fees will be based on submission of agreed satisfactory deliverables. UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment in case the deliverables submitted are not up to the required standard or in case of delays in submitting the deliverables on the part of the consultant.
U.S. Visa information:
With the exception of the US Citizens, G4 Visa and Green Card holders, should the selected candidate and his/her household members reside in the United States under a different visa, the consultant and his/her household members are required to change their visa status to G4, and the consultant’s household members (spouse) will require an Employment Authorization Card (EAD) to be able to work, even if he/she was authorized to work under the visa held prior to switching to G4.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants. Consultants are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
