Supporting CO through the production of social and behavioral evidence, engagement in community and human-centered processes, and transformations in programmatic sectors to make communities more inclusive, equitable and peaceful. Using a combination of approaches including risk communication, community engagement and accountability (CEA), strategic public health emergency (PHE) communication, applied behavioural sciences, service delivery improvement, systems strengthening, social mobilisation and policy advocacy to advance child rights, survival, development, emergencies/localisation, protection and participation.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Minimum requirements:

Education:
Advanced degree (master's degree or higher) in applied anthropology or sociology oranother relevant degree in a social science discipline
 
Experience:
  • A minimum of five years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas is required: social development programme planning, social and behavior change, communication for development, public advocacy, or another related area.
  • Experience in humanitarian crisis response, conflict affected programme management, including emergency situations in the Sahel, is required.

Language requirements: Fluency in French is required. Knowledge of another official UN language or a local language is an asset.

Desirables:

  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency.

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance.  Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station is required for IP positions and will be facilitated by UNICEF. Should you be selected for a position with UNICEF, you either must be inoculated as required or receive a medical exemption from the relevant department of the UN. Otherwise, the selection will be canceled.
