    Akelius Field Consultant for Una-Sana Canton, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Education and Skills section. 12 months, Remote (open for National consultants) in Bosnia & Herzegovina

    Under the direct supervision of the Education Officer and in collaboration with the Education Specialist , the consultant is responsible for providing technical support in the implementation of the Akelius initiative, contributing to a quality scaleup in 31 additional schools (further to the 17 existing ones) in Una-Sana Canton by ensuring technical support to key partners (schools, teacher training institute and education ministry), providing monitoring of activities within schools, monitoring of equipment, feedback collection and knowledge exchange between different administrative units and schools and regular reporting of these activities and serving as a technical resource person for schools and partners.

    The Project for the Prevention Measures against Drug Use among Children and Youth in Samoa project, funded by the Government of Japan, aims to address Samoa’s escalating drug crisis by strengthening prevention, protection, and response mechanisms for children and adolescents. A key component of Output 3 involves the rehabilitation and establishment of child friendly service hubs in hospitals, police stations, and community spaces. To support the design and implementation of these hard component interventions, UNICEF requires a qualified technical consultant to undertake facility assessments, carry out community and stakeholder consultations, prepare construction related documentation, and advise on suitable implementation modalities.

    The purpose of this consultancy is to support UNICEF Algeria in the contextualization, delivery, follow-up and institutional anchoring of the UPSHIFT approach for the benefit of selected cadres from the Ministry of Youth and the Ministry of Vocational Training and Education. The assignment aims to strengthen the capacities of ministry staff to understand, facilitate and replicate the UPSHIFT methodology as a structured approach for developing adolescents’ and young people’s life skills, social innovation capacities, problem-solving abilities, civic engagement and transition-related competencies. The consultancy will contribute to the broader UNICEF agenda on adolescent and youth development, Life Skills and Citizenship Education (LSCE), youth participation, employability and learning-to-earning pathways.
