UNICEF’s Vaccine Centre (VC) has played a central role in coordinating vaccine access and deployment during the mpox response, in collaboration with WHO, Gavi, Africa CDC, and other partners. The response has generated a wealth of operational experience, data, and tools that now need to be consolidated into a structured knowledge management (KM) system. To ensure institutional readiness for future outbreaks of novel pathogens, UNICEF seeks to build on the mpox experience by developing standardized tools, templates, and repositories for use in future outbreak vaccine responses. This includes strengthening the architecture for knowledge sharing, establishing streamlined workflows, and ensuring interoperability with UNICEF’s internal systems and partner frameworks (e.g., WHO, Africa CDC, Gavi). In addition, the consultant is expected to provide support with ongoing mpox tendering for establishing the global mpox stockpile and development of relevant Gavi program infrastructure.
