UNICEF's Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC) in Budapest, Hungary supports UNICEF operations globally in the areas of Finance, Human Resources, Payroll and Information Technology.

How can you make a difference? 

The new HR intern will report to the HR Officer, HR Admin Section, Global Shared Services Centre, UNICEF, Budapest, Hungary. The incumbent will contribute to the successful Recruitment Administration Services (RAS) launch and implementation.

This may involve:

  • Project Support: Assist in the implementation of the RAS project including project planning, tracking deliverables, and reporting progress.
  • Data Management: Collect, organize, and analyze HR data to support decision-making processes for various HR initiatives (e.g., recruitment, onboarding, talent development).
  • Documentation: Prepare project documentation, including project plans, meeting minutes, presentations, and reports.
  • Process Improvement: Assist in identifying opportunities for streamlining HR processes and recommend improvements.
  • Conduct quality spot checks to assess the accuracy of the system outcomes.
  • Training Support: Provide logistical and administrative support for HR training sessions and workshops.

General Administrative Support: Handle other HR-related tasks as needed, including assisting with communications, coordinating meetings and preparing materials.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

  • Current enrollment in a degree programme at the Bachelor or Masters level or recent graduate (within the last 2 years) in the areas of Human Resources, Business Administration with HR Specialization, Recruitment Strategy, Talent Acquisition, HR & Technology, Quality Assurance, or other related fields.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong commitment and drive for results demonstrated.
  • Eligible applicants must be nationals of EU countries or be eligible to work in Hungary.
  • Individuals are personally responsible for obtaining any required visa or residence permit, covering the entire period of their internship.
  • The selected intern will be required to provide proof of enrolment in a health/accident plan prior taking up the assignment.

Contract Duration and Terms

This contract is for an initial 3-month duration, 30-40 working hours/week, full-time office attendance required from Monday to Friday. The anticipated start date of this internship is November 2024. The intern must fund their travel and living expenses. This internship is paid with a stipend of net HUF 2105 / hour capped at net HUF 362,133 per month. Interns may take up to 2.5 paid leave days per month for any reason, including for medical reasons. The stipend will be reduced for any absence beyond this quota.

Government employees that are considered for employment with UNICEF are normally required to resign from their government before taking up an assignment with UNICEF. UNICEF reserves the right to withdraw an offer of appointment, without compensation, if a visa or medical clearance is not obtained, or necessary inoculation requirements are not met, within a reasonable period for any reason.
