Purpose for the job:
The Corporate Partnerships Manager will lead the corporate partnerships and philanthropy team and focus on realizing the ambitious Corporate Fundraising objectives. The purpose of the Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy team is to drive impact, defined as financial resources in addition to other valuable assets and opportunities from Business and Corporate Foundations as well as Major Donors, to optimize the value of the partnership to achieve UNICEF’s strategic goals.
The incumbent will be based in Brasilia, reporting to the Resource Mobilization & Partnerships (RM&P) Chief, and will actively contribute to the definition and the implementation of the Corporate and Philanthropy partnership's strategy, both for new business development- acquisition of new partnerships and for driving and growing existing partnerships. S/he will also work closely with other teams in the individual fundraising unit, Communications, Programme Services, Marketing Services, and other partners as required.
Job organizational context:
The position is part of Brazil Country Office (BCO) Private Fundrainsing and Partnerships (PFP) team leading the Private Sector Fundraising (PSFR) activities in Brazil and the relations with the Private sector (income and influence strategy). The PSFR activities are key for the Country Programme Document (CPD) in BCO representing around 2/3 of total programme investment in country.
Key End-Results
- Corporate Partnerships strategy developed together with the RM&PChief, in line with global corporate partnerships priorities and strategy, and translated into concrete plans, including the monitoring, and reporting of the results.
- Strategic and operational corporate strategy and implementation plans effectively managed to meet or exceed income targets.
- Prospect and secure New Business Partnerships, delivering to UNICEF Brazil’s strategic objectives.
- Successful partnerships managed and cultivated with corporate partners.
- Risks management, including coordinating with Due Diligence and liaising with other risk management departments, including Communications, to ensure any risks on specific partnerships are both identified and managed.
- UNICEF’s global fundraising priorities, campaigns, and partnerships, disseminated in a locally appropriate way.
- A highly motivated Corporate and Philanthropy fundraising team (key account management and new business) with clear roles and responsibilities in place.
- The Corporate and Philanthropy Fundraising team well-integrated in the entire fundraising team and working together in the best possible way with other areas in the organization.
- Nurtures, lead and management of the High Value Channel (HVCH) team in BCO, leading the strategic vision and building internal relations to have the best performance.
- Advise on Corporate Pathways to Pledge (CPTP) programmes effectively delivered.
- Partnership contracts and implementation in compliance with UNICEF PFP’s policies and guidance.
- Back-up for the RM&P Chief, when necessary, properly delivered.

Education &Experience:
- Advanced University degree (master's degree or equivalent) in Business Administration, Communications, Economics or equivalent. Specialization in Fundraising Studies or Marketing is desirable.
- A minimum of eight years of progressively responsible professional work experience in managing a fundraising program and being accountable for achieving income targets together with proven track record in driving income growth. Experience in marketing/PR, sponsorship, project management, including work with the corporate sector, particularly in creating large scale corporate partnerships, ideally at the international level.
- Proven experience in successfully negotiating and managing large partnerships and delivering on or exceeding ambitious income targets.
- Demonstrated experience in managing and motivating a team.
- Knowledge of current theories and practices in fundraising, including individual giving, marketing and sponsorship required.
Language Requirements:
- Fluency in English is required. Fluency in Portuguese, Spanish, or other roman language is highly desirable as the post will require a commitment to achieve fluency in Portuguese (if not already acquired).
Technical Knowledge
- Experience within a UN agency or international NGO is an asset
- Understanding of and experience in specialized fundraising techniques (Cause marketing, customer fundraising, pathways to pledge).
- Understanding of the different modalities of engagement with Private Sector for programmatic purposes
- Understanding of the modalities of Communication for Partnerships (C4P) Technical Knowledge to be Acquired/Enhanced (for the job)
- Understanding of results-based approach and programming.
- Understanding of needs of clients and stakeholders.
- Experience in, and knowledge of, the country context is an asset.
