How can you make a difference?

Under the direct supervision of the Fundraising Officer (Digital), the incumbent will be responsible for timely follow up with the digital agency to develop and implement the digital campaigns, provide briefings, and assure UNICEF program is being implemented and results are delivered. S/he is responsible for executing a broad variety of routine tasks and some specialized for the respective section, requiring thorough knowledge of UNICEF digital fundraising campaigns, procedures, processes, and policies. The main functions/accountabilities are:

  1. With guidance of the supervisor, support the monitoring of financial and non-financial agreements of the individuals giving section in support of UNICEF's mission and objectives and in the implementation of the strategy of fundraising with partners:
  • Analyze market trends, identify opportunities and potential corporate partners to establish contact databases.
  • Assist with UNICEF proposals through targeted presentations for potential corporate partners for the supervisors’ approval.
  • Monitor and follow-up on existing agreements and action plans with corporate partners on a regular basis to ensure targets are met.
  • Support in the design of marketing and communication materials for business.
  1. Under the supervision and guidance of the supervisor, support the individuals fundraising area by providing assistance on quality planning, monitoring and evaluation to improve performance management of the campaigns:
  • Perform a closer supervision and monitoring of the agencies and fundraisers to ensure timely decision making and assure good quality and quantity results in the donors’ acquisition process.
  • Regular monitoring and evaluation activities undertaken according to the work plan to ensure maximum impact and continuous improvement of face to face fundraising efforts.
  • Support capacity development activities and conferences by making the logistical arrangements, through engaging with individual giving members, caterers, and hosts.
  • Liaise with budget focal points and section over costs and needs.
  • Prepare background materials for participants, agendas on meetings and events and minutes related to the work group commitments and recommendations.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of communication and media strategies for individuals giving section.
  1. With the supervisor’s guidance liaise with corporate partner’s communication department to effectible implement strategies.
  • Prepare and analyze the campaigns KPIs and the investment requirements. Provide technical support in the establishment of campaign KPIs and criteria (reporting, systems, performance evaluation, goals).
  • Prepare preliminary documentation of projects, work plans, budgets, and proposals for implementation agreements.
  • Support and coordinate with the UNICEF’s communication unit to formulate and design communication materials such as: audiovisual materials, scripts, layout and publishing, materials for business events print, digital media and press. 
  • Establish and maintain the office filing and reference systems, both traditional and digital; and ensures the inter/intra-net websites are up to date and accurate.
  1. Administrative Support for the Individual Giving Section
  • Monitor budgets and financial expenditures of section, ensuring compliance with UNICEF rules and regulations, keeping supervisor informed and advised on actions for decision/follow up.
  • Provide follow up on donation justifications, invoices, and check/transfer receipt with the Operations section.
  • Carry out transactions in the system (VISION) pertaining funds management of his/her section such as registering grant allotment, creating funds commitments and tracking expiring programme grants.
  • Facilitate the solicitation of vendors, service providers and suppliers that provide a service to the section. This includes making necessary logistical arrangements for obtaining quotations, preparing terms of reference, and liaising with the operations section for contracting of consultants, vendors and suppliers.
  • Provide travel assistance to staff members in his/her section for travel arrangements and entitlements based on the organization’s rules and policies. Liaise with relevant travel focal points to ensure that the organization obtains the best service and price for all travel.
  • Maintains office calendar and arranges meetings. Takes minutes of meetings, ensuring accuracy, attention to detail and coherence.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Education: Completion of secondary education preferably supplemented by technical, or university courses related to the work of the organization.

University first degree (Bachelor’s) in Public Relations (RP), Marketing, Advertising or Social Communication is highly desirable.

Additional relevant post-graduate courses that complement/supplement the main degree is a strong asset.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience in marketing or public relations, with at least 2 years digital performance areas and/or any related function. Digital fundraising experience is a welcomed plus.
  • Proven successful experience with online media tools such as Google Ads, Editor, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads and so on, as well as measuring online tools such as Google Analytics.
  • Deep understanding of the paid media landscape in Brazil.
  • Experience in working for international organizations or UN/UNICEF would be assets.

An academic degree higher than the required degree may be considered to compensate up to two (2) years of experience in case the candidate lacks the required experience.

Language: Fluency in English and Portuguese is required. Knowledge of Spanish is an asset.
