La Oficina de UNICEF en Colombia suscribió con el Gobierno Nacional el Programa de Cooperación para el período de marzo de 2025 a diciembre de 2028. Este marco establece los resultados esperados y las condiciones generales que orientan la cooperación de UNICEF con las instituciones del Estado colombiano, el Sistema de Naciones Unidas, las organizaciones de la sociedad civil, el sector privado y otros actores estratégicos. Su desarrollo se fundamenta en el mandato, las capacidades y las ventajas comparativas de UNICEF, tales como: la capacidad de articular actores diversos y de incidencia multinivel en torno a la protección integral de la niñez y la adolescencia; la vinculación de la programación humanitaria y de desarrollo; la presencia en las regiones más rezagadas; la experiencia de trabajo con adolescentes, y el uso de diversos enfoques basados en el territorio, la población, la discapacidad, el género, la etnicidad, el ciclo de vida y los derechos de la infancia.

The Caribbean is highly vulnerable to natural disasters and climate-related hazards that can disrupt education, damage school infrastructure, and affect learning continuity. To address these risks, CDEMA, with support from UNICEF, developed the online Safe Schools: Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience course to strengthen school safety and disaster preparedness among education professionals. Building on the success of the online course, this initiative aims to develop a competency-based, face-to-face training programme that emphasizes practical skills, peer learning, and school-level action planning. The resulting training package will serve as a standardized regional resource that can be adapted and delivered by Ministries of Education and other institutions to strengthen the resilience and preparedness of education systems across the Caribbean.
