Purpose of Activity/Assignment: The purpose of this assignment is to recruit an experienced Editorial Consultant to support UNICEF Vietnam in developing high-quality written content. This includes drafting, editing, and proofreading communication materials, reports, and publications with a specific focus on promoting Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) issues in businesses. The consultant will highlight the role of ESG in corporate operations and integrate UNICEF’s advocacy for ESG principles into the content to enhance awareness and engagement among stakeholders.

Scope of Work:

The Editorial Consultant will:

- Draft, edit, and proofread public relations (PR) articles focused on ESG agenda in businesses, emphasizing the importance of ESG for sustainable corporate growth with a particular emphasis on family-friendly workplace practices as a key component of the "S" in ESG considerations.

- Develop and refine communication materials that position UNICEF as a key partner in promoting ESG practices within the business sector, especially with the updates from the prevailing existing standards and initiatives such as European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) and European Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (EUCSDDD).

- Collaborate with UNICEF staff and external partners to gather insights and data on ESG-related initiatives.

- Create content tailored to various audiences, including businesses, policymakers, and the public, ensuring accessibility and relevance.

- Establish and nurture media relationships to amplify UNICEF’s role in advancing ESG priorities in corporate settings.

- Review and ensure the quality of translated documents and media outputs related to ESG topics.

Work Assignments and Deliverables/Outputs Delivery Timeframe:

- Draft and edit PR articles on ESG topics.

Deliverable 1: Finalized articles highlighting ESG issues and the role of UNICEF in corporate ESG initiatives.

From 30 Dec 2024 to 01 Feb 2025.

- Develop communication materials integrating ESG themes.

Deliverable 2: Completed materials aligning UNICEF’s messaging with corporate ESG priorities.

From 30 Dec 2024 to 31 Dec 2024.

- Collaborate with teams for ESG-related content.

Deliverable 3: Accurate and compelling content showcasing UNICEF’s impact on corporate ESG practices.

From 30 Dec 2024 to 15 Jan 2025.

- Build and maintain media relationships.

Deliverable 4: Established connections with media outlets to promote UNICEF’s role in ESG by media spreading on digital/e-newspapers

From 30 Dec 2024 to 01 March 2025.

- Review and ensure quality of translated ESG documents.

Deliverable 5: High-quality translated documents ensuring accurate communication of ESG themes and UNICEF’s role.

From 01 Feb 2025 to 30 April 2025

Reporting:

The consultant will report to the Partnerships Officer.

Minimum requirement:

- Bachelor in Business, Marketing and communication, ESG, Social Policy, Social Development or related disciplines.

- 05 yearyears experience in writing and editing PR materials, particularly on ESG topics.

- Strong understanding of ESG principles and their application in corporate contexts.

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to tailor content for diverse audiences.

- Established media connections and experience in media relations.

Assessment criteria:

The ratio between the technical and the financial proposal for this task is 75:25 respectively. 

a) Technical Evaluation: maximum of 75 points:

- Educational background: 20
- Relevant work experience: 35
- Required language(s): Vietnamese 10
- Others: 10

b) Financial Proposal (maximum of 25 points):

The maximum number of points shall be allotted to the lowest Financial Proposal that is opened /evaluated and compared among those technical qualified candidates who have attained a minimum 50 points score in the technical evaluation. Other Financial Proposals will receive points in inverse proportion to the lowest price.

The Contract shall be awarded to candidate obtaining the highest combined technical and financial scores, subject to the satisfactory result of the verification interview if needed.

Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
