How can you make a difference?
Under the overall guidance of the supervisor, this role is accountable for programme planning, design, implementation and administration of a major digital health system strengthening programme within UNICEFs Digital Transformation (DX) strategy.
WORK ASSIGNMENT:
1. Support capacity building of health workers across 14 municipalities
2. Immunization Data collection from fully functional CHC and reporting into HMIS
3. Provide technical support to MoH to develop annual HMIS report 2024
4. Provide support to national HMIS team in preparation to national meeting to present report findings, share experience
5. Joint monitoring and support supervision visits to Municipality Health services and community health centers
6. Technical support to develop national T4D policy and strategy
DELIVERABLES:
1.1. Coach MoH HMIS team to train health workers to record immunization data
1.2. Refresher training report
2. Quality assurance, timeliness, and completeness of DHIS2
3. HMIS 2024 final report
4. Conducted dissemination workshop with MoH and key stake holders, development partners and donors
5. Field trip report
6. National policy developed and shared with partners
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
- A university degree (Master Degree or equivalent) in health informatics, computer science, public health/medicine, development studies, economics or related field is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in information communication technology for development (ICT4D) in a large international organization and/or corporation is required.
- Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with humanitarian emergencies is considered an asset.
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language or a local language is an asset.
- Experience identifying, designing, and implementing solutions for large-scale digital health projects with technical components – including overseeing external vendors and software

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
