How can you make a difference?
The position will report to the Programme Officer (Generation Unlimited) and is aimed at implementing the Passport to Earning (P2E) strategy that seeks to promote professional training and access to decent work for adolescents and young people in vulnerable situation through the One Million Opportunities (1MiO) initiative. The officer will oversee the skills development area of 1MiO and will be directly responsible for the goals designed for this front within 1MiO in the UNICEF Brazil Country Programme.
This includes:
- Design and Coordinate the 1MiO courses and skills development journeys, supervising their performance, ensuring quality and alignment with the demands of the world of work.
- Coordinate consultants, implementing and programmatic partners in the curation, production and adaptation of content for 1MiO courses and learning journeys in the categories of school-to-work transition skills and competencies outlined in UNICEF's Global Framework on Transferrable Skills (foundational, digital, job-specific, transferrable and entrepreneurial);
- Manage the relationship with 1MiO partners from the private sector, civil society and governments that offer training opportunities by establishing agreements, timelines and strategies to make these opportunities available within the initiative.
- Coordinate of a Learning Management System (LMS) within 1MiO's digital platform
- Coordinate the maintenance and implementation of improvements to a Learning Management System (LMS) within 1MiO's digital platform based on Microsoft Community Training (MCT) technology in cooperation with Generation Unlimited' s global development team and UNICEF Brazil ICT team;
- Ensure that the LMS promotes a good user experience, with adequate course taxonomy based on national and international benchmarks, a fluid, functional, and accessible navigation for course completion and certificate issuance, and a system for monitoring results.
- Results management and support for youth engagement strategies and partner governments
- Be responsible for delivering the expected results for the 1MiO skills development front within the UNICEF Brazil Country Programme, defining and executing monitoring and evaluation strategies, producing results reports, systematizing lessons learned and implementing improvements based on them;
- Support 1MiO youth mobilization strategies – both digital and territorial - with a focus on the Amazon, Semi-arid and urban centers, within the scope of the UNICEF Seal and UNICEF City Agenda initiatives, so that adolescents and youth carry out 1MiO training offers;
- Support strategies to engage municipal and state governments, with a focus on the Amazon, Semi-arid and urban centers, within the scope of the UNICEF Seal and UNICEF City Agenda initiatives, in offering professional training for adolescents and young people and in ensuring institutional and infrastructure conditions so that courses and skills development journeys can be taken by youth in vulnerable situation.
- Relationship management with stakeholders of the Passport to Earning (P2E) and Generation Unlimited (GenU) initiatives and integration with the other 1MiO results/areas
- Coordinate collaboration and results monitoring and reporting with global and local partners of the Passport to Earning (P2E) and Generation Unlimited (GenU) initiatives such as Accenture and Microsoft.
- Collaborate and strategically support the actions of 1MiO's and P2E/GenU fronts for access to quality education, digital inclusion, employability, entrepreneurship, and income generation, integrating with them the efforts of the skills development front.

Minimum requirements:
Education: A university degree in one of the following fields is required: Education, Technology, Social Sciences, Communications, Administration, Public Policy, Social Policy, Social Development, Community Development, or another relevant technical field.
Work Experience:
A minimum of one year of relevant professional related to Education, Content and Project Management, Partnerships Management, Engagement of private sector and governments, Youth mobilization, Technology, Design and User Experience (UX).
Knowledge and skills with:
- Project Management;
- Content curation and production;
- E-learning; Monitoring and Evaluation;
- Reporting and documentation; Human Rights;
- Technology;
- Youth Engagement;
- Public Administration in Brazil with a focus on national, state and municipal level flagship programmes on productive inclusion of adolescent/youth;
- Facilitation and training.
Language Requirements: Fluency in English and Portuguese required.
Desirables:
- A master’s degree and/or a post-graduation certificate is considered as an asset.
- Knowledge of Spanish language.
- Additional years of experience related to Education, Content and Project Management, Partnerships Management, Engagement of private sector and governments, Youth mobilization, Technology, Design and User Experience (UX).
