How can you make a difference?
Join UNICEF as a Database Associate (Reporting & Analytics) and help advance our mission forward! You’ll work closely with the Data Center Officer to ensure data integrity and consistency across UNICEF systems. You will monitor accurate and timely data through research and analyze data to have a better understanding of our donors, different fundraising strategies, and market trends.
You'll also handle a complex database, ensuring that all stakeholders can clearly understand and utilize the data effectively. Be a part of shaping our future impact!
The key functions include:
- Assist in data analysis processes to better understand donors, fundraising strategies, and market trends for decision-making, provide detailed reports that identify market opportunities and risks, supporting decision-making for UNICEF's Brazil country office. Collaborate on analyzing donor behavior to tailor campaigns for higher profitability and long-term relationships, while also delivering insights on campaign performance to guide investment decisions.
- Manage data across various PFP systems to ensure integrity and consistency for decision-making. Assist in defining data upload, maintenance, and security procedures, while regularly auditing database integrity and suggesting improvements. Handle the import and export of donor records between UNICEF systems and external platforms, maintaining clean and segmented data for fundraising campaigns and Donor Journey (Marketing Cloud) implementation.
- Monitor banking and collection processes to maximize monthly collection of donations. Collaborate with the charges of donors’ contributions, ensuring accurate data transfer between banking and data systems. Track the banking process calendar, keeping supervisors and management informed. Maintain banking responses updated in salesforce, ensuring data integrity for approved and rejected donations. Regularly monitor and report on bank processing success rates to drive process improvements and enhance payment success.
- Assist in optimizing, integrating, and automating Resource Mobilization and Partnership processes and new technology development, ensuring data consistency.
- Conduct data analysis to identify improvements, issues, and segmentation within the database, ensuring accuracy in support of direct marketing campaigns. Suggest improvements, perform data cross-checking, and help identify opportunities to optimize UNICEF’s database and generate reports that align with business needs.
- Analyze and improve existing processes by identifying critical points and recommending improvements to workflows and systems. Support the supervisor in adapting processes for optimal performance, contribute to designing development plans, and monitor routines to minimize errors and risks. Assist in automating database-related tasks, provide first-level support for agencies and suppliers, and propose process optimizations based on current tools and limitations. Suggest methodologies and procedures to drive continuous improvement.
- Create real-time dashboards and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports to support decision-making in Resource Mobilization and Partnerships, using tools such as SQL, Tableau, Power BI, and Python. Regularly collaborate with the Individual Giving team to fulfill requests and coordinate technical solutions for campaign reporting and monitoring. Additionally, assist in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for fundraising activities, involving donor systems, reporting, and data management.

Education: Completion of secondary education is required.
A university degree or be enrolled in a graduate school programme in IT, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Administration, Economics or related areas is an asset.
Experience:
- A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in data entry and data management is required.
An academic degree higher than the required degree may be considered to compensate up to two (2) years of experience in case the candidate lacks the required experience.
- Experience in generating reports and dashboards in Power BI, information analysis, consolidation and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data is required;
- Intermediate SQL Server and database knowledge is required;
- Intermediate data modeling methods knowledge is needed;
- Basic Direct marketing metrics knowledge is needed.
Language: Fluency in English and Portuguese is required. Knowledge of Spanish is an asset.
