| As part of its efforts to support the coordination of foundational learning in Nigeria, the Federal Ministry of Education,
through the Director of Basic Education, has requested UNICEF to support the development of the FLN Policy for Nigeria.
This will build on the identified gaps in the FLN Landscape analysis and other evidence on FLN implementation across the
states. The consultant will also work with FME, State governments, and partners to map the number and location of nonformal learning centers. |

| The UNICEF Data & Analytics (D&A) Education team manages foundational learning data derived from the Multiple Indicator Cluster Surveys (MICS). This includes translating survey syntax into R, maintaining the GitHub repository containing processing codes, and managing a harmonized database of education indicators.
Following the release of updated Foundational Learning Skills (FLS) datasets for MICS6 and MICS7, updates are required across 44 country datasets within the internal education repository and database. For advocacy purposes, the team is also seeking to explore calculating a new indicator using this data to increase the use and visibility |
